The Eagles are going to release DeSean Jackson, as @JClarkNBCS
reported and as Jackson alluded to in his Instagram posts.
Jackson had 23 catches for 395 yards and 3 TDs in 8 games during his 2nd stint in Philly.
Eagles will get $4.9M in cap savings, take a $5.8M cap hit.
Agree. Giants should be shopping for short term bargains and focus on building in the draft. Hoping for a WR signing while drafted WR's catch up.
Eagles have quite a few other bloated contracts on the roster as well. Seems like they are going to purge quite a bit this offseason.

that are older who will be making a lot less next season. The stars like LW will get paid but others will not.

Lines of Scrimmage - who else is out there that you think they may release?
How nice it would be to make this hurt twice for Eagles, having them take a cap hit and maybe the Giants picking up somebody of value.

The Oline has two big contracts in Johnson and Brooks. Both very injury prone and older.
On D they have Cox who is getting up in age.
Very similar to how the Giants got old along the lines in both age and bloated contracts versus performance imv.
Compare that to Reese. He gets well-deserved criticism for moves after 2011, but he was at his best finding complimentary pieces to an already-balanced roster.
JPP, Rolle, Kenny Phillips, Prince all helped out aging stars like Tuck, Osi and Webster
