and runs through 03/09. Teams will probably wait a tad longer trying to lock in long term deals.
Dak Prescott and the boys is one to watch. If they don't get him signed I could see them going after Watson or Wilson via trade- EE could be packaged with picks and the Prescott would easily be coveted by a number of teams.
Which WR's get tagged will also be worth watching.

When does the July 15th deadline end? Is it today, is it the start of the new year?? Was it after the superbowl???
"Players who sign the tag have until July 15 to sign long-term deals with their teams. If they do not do so by that deadline, they will have to wait until the next offseason to sign a long-term deal."
My guess is they reach a deal with Dak but if not will just Tag him. They can't let him go for nothing, and he's earned his next contract (hoping its in albatross).
all indications is that Dak's rehab is going well.

Yeah, there’s no need to go after Watson. What’s the point? They can win with Dak as “easily” as they could with Watson, even if Watson is considered somewhat better..Why give up valuable picks they need to shore up a bunch of areas?

He used to have no leverage but the injury is absolutely leverage. And he can tag Dak - the estimates of what that would be is around $30m based on a Salary cap of $180m (last time I checked). Its actually a really good time to use it.
I am more interested in what happens with the top 3 wrs. Golladay should get the tag but what of Robinson and Godwin?? Do they get deals? FA??
I do think Watson will be leaving Houston. I am not 100% convinced Wilson stays with Seattle. Something is brewing under the surface there and I don't Wilson is enamored with Carroll and his offense.
Had my math wrong earlier, forgot he played on the tag already. Still cheaper than $40m per year that Dak wants.
Isn't this what happened to Kirk Cousins?

I still don't understand why Dallas didn't just re-sign Dak prior to the FT last year. I am convinced Jones over thought this thing and couldn't escape the fear that Dak wasn't a super bowl caliber QB but he also wasn't sure Dak isn't a must have either. Jones waffled, if that's the right word, and here we are...
Dak has done everything asked of him except carry Dallas to a super bowl title. If super bowls was the end all be all threshold very few QBs would get a big second contract. I think that's a wacky and impossible standard to set. Dak should have been re-signed long term well before now, in my view.
I'm not a cap expert, but doesn't tagging a playing take up that amount of space for this years cap?
Given that they haven't finalized the cap, and most teams will likely have little cap space, I don't see too many players being tagged this year.
