This is the moment I thought this team would win a Superbowl someday.
Same, something about the team began to feel like it was emerging.
We didn't win games like that before, I would see that stuff when Cowboys or 49er's played. It felt different. The bus ride to school felt different. I lived in northern Ocean County, more Eagle and Jet fans around me, that game me shit for years, for rooting for the Giants. I finally felt like it was going to be my turn. Loved the way it played it out.
sad seeing Kevin Belcher out there at C just becoming a force
then he had that terrible car accident in the off season and his career was over. He would have been C for a long time.
It's an interesting question to ponder - would they have been better with Belcher than Bart Oates? Oates certainly was no slouch himself, but he was more of a technician, kind of like O'Hara (but better than O'Hara IMO). Belcher was more of a power player.

Sure is. I agree that Oates and O'Hara were similar in style and also that Oates was better (not by too much though). I think Belcher would ultimately have been better than Oates because he was more powerful and athletic, and by the end of '84 he had learned the technical aspect. I always had that "what if?" in my mind whenever they played the Eagles back then. Loved Oates and they were fortunate to get him, but he couldn't handle that Philly line.

Was there any one person that could handle Jerome Brown and Reggie White?

One weak link is all it takes, especially if its the C. They never had a pocket nor could could they run between the tackles against Philly.

I forgot what game it was but, we were playing Dallas and I am pretty sure it was at home (but we were wearing the WHITE uniforms) _ maybe it was Parcell's "mind games" against Dallas?
Someone (Taylor?) forced a fumble and Andy Headon ran it back for a touchdown. We ended up beating Dallas something like 28 - 7? The LB crew we had back then was un-BELIEVABLE.
That game used to be on YouTube, as I watched it before, but now only the highlights are. Yes, that was in the era when Parcells would wear white at home to force the Cowboys to wear their "bad luck" navy jerseys. Also interesting - Pat Summerall was announcing the US Open so it was Jack Buck on the call with Madden.
Criqui and Trumpy failed to mention Mowatt's tremendous game

+1 ..
I think you were replying to me Greg?
That was my game Greg ... where it all seem to change for me. The "aha" light went on ....
God, there are so many Giants to love from this era.

That was the game where I remember thinking
"This is not my Father's Giants anymore"
"Memories ... like the corners of my mind ...."
