#BREAKING Agency at scene say @TigerWoods was injured in crash in Ranchos Palos Verdes at Hawthorne Blvd near Blackhorse Rd. Fire crews had to use jaws of life to get him out of vehicle. @KFIAM640 @FOXSports @AM570LASports @espn @TMZ_Sports
Hope the surgeries go well.
And yes he looked "sleepy" in his interview with Dan Hicks on Sunday.

He looked sleepy yesterday with Dwayne Wade as well.
He was on his way to commitment for Discovery. Spent yesterday and was suppose to be doing something for Discovery today

Seems to always be getting trouble in his car.
My thing is if you’re a multi millionaire like him, why not have a regular driver?
Kobe had a regular pilot. Didn't end well.

Very familiar with that road while driving it to play some the the golf courses there. Not a place where you want to be speeding for sure.
The poor guy that killed himself a few years ago wadding up his Ferrari with Bill Haas in the passenger seat; same area?
Don't recall that incident.
Yeah he had his fifth back surgery fairly recently.

Accidents and tragedies can happen to anyone. But when you consider that Tiger has a history of DUI and he’s coming off back surgery, a driver would not have been a bad idea. Maybe he was overtired because his back has been bothering him and he couldn’t sleep.

In the interview I saw (part of) on Sunday, he looked a bit tired, unless I'm just not used to how he looks on camera now (!). He wouldn't express confidence in being able to get into even one prep tournament before the Masters in April.
If he has serious leg injuries (suggested above somewhere?), who knows how long it will be, if ever, before we see that again.
That happened to Ben Hogan. There's a 1951 film, "Follow the Sun," about, starring Glenn Ford.
Don't want to speculate, but just saw that picture. From my personal experience, that 99% looks like a dude that's on drugs that hasn't slept or slept for little just trying to bulldog through the day. There's being on no sleep sober and no sleep on drugs. Certainly looked more the latter. Just imo.

Agreed - but Tiger is one of the few stars on the planet who have a larger than life status in the sports world; maybe others in the US are Jordan, Jeter, LeBron, Brady and a few others. While he's no longer in his prime he's still capable of winning a major, which is a little different than if Jordan was in a similar situation.

Completely different area 30 miles apart, but Chautauqua is a winding, steep steep road where you have to be careful. Especially downhill.

Perhaps he was still capable, but his chances were extremely remote. Beyond his health issues, his age alone would make a major victory highly, highly unlikey. Out of over 450 majors held, 3 have been won by someone older than Tiger. The last over 30 years ago before golfers typically did serious physical conditioning.

You got all that from a picture of a wrecked car? Give me a fucking break. But you don’t want to speculate.
It’s a windy road, he could have taken a curve at too high a speed and lost control. Or an animal could have run in front of him. But I don’t want to speculate.
Any weird way to force this shit into any current situation ir conversation, lol. The guy I work with won't STFU about this either.

I guess I wasn't completely clear, but I was responding to his comment from the interview. Saw a picture from that.
When I got prescribed Ambien it's a very interesting drug. I was straight out for like 7 hours, would occasional sleep eat, and your tolerance certainly goes up. You'd wake up like you slept, but not well rested. Also some cognitive issues as far as learning goes on a daily basis which I guess 90 percent of the people that take it have no idea is a side effect. Probably why so many idiots walking around just prescription drugged up to the gills living in blissful ignorance.
Totally disagree. I think in a weird way with everything he’s gone though, then winning the Masters, he’s as popular as ever.
I saw him at the Tour Championship in Atlanta on a Saturday in 2018. The crowd definitely followed him, but not at the level they did when I was at the '06 PGA Championship the Saturday of that tournament.
Far more.
Jack has always been and will always be the GOAT.

I don't think Woods is on the MJ/LeBron level in 2021. 2008? Sure, but his star has fallen quite a bit.

I was pretty indifferent on Tiger, but that documentary that just came out made me like him a lot.
Prayers for a full recovery so he can enjoy his children.
Yeah just losers like Arnold Palmer, Gary player, Lee Trevino, Tom Watson...Tiger in fact had a distinct lack of competition especially early in his career.
Hope it wasn't his femur, but since it the ankle I'd guess Tibia or fibula(lower leg).
From the look of that wreck, yes it could have been a lot worse.
Not sure how he's not at the Jordan, Gretzky, LeBron level of star (in 2021), IMO he definitely is.
Not just casual interest either, playing and watching.
Hope he fully recovers.
Comminuted open fractures affecting both the upper and lower portions of the tibia and fibula bones were stabilized by inserting a rod into the tibia. Additional injuries to the bones of the foot and ankle were stabilized with a combination of screws and pins," Mahajan added. "Trauma to the muscle and soft-tissue of the leg required surgical release of the covering of the muscles to relieve pressure due to swelling."

Side note i'm sure the leg trauma treatment came first but i'm wondering if he did any additional damage to his back. Really hope not.

what competition did he have? Tiger is the GOAT.

Exactly. They were always trying to find someone to make his rival, the sports media anyway. They tried with David Duval, then it was Sergio Garcia, and then Mickelson. Mickelson was probably the closest thing to a real competitor, but not really.
I’m not minimizing Tiger at all, but Nicklaus definitely faced tougher competition and you also have to keep in mind the technology differences between Nicklaus’ era and Tiger’s. Try hitting some blades irons from the 60’s or 70’s vs. the equipment of the late 90’s and beyond.
Seems very fortunate to be alive or not hurt much worse.
I also think some of his top end competition has been short changed - Phil, Ernie, Singh and to an extent McIlroy have all been good competition. But the explosion of talent has really kept it from being as top heavy as it was 25+ years ago.
There's also been a massive and frequent change to courses and equipment, something that's also leveled the playing field.

How did Ncklaus face tougher competition? There were and and are more golfers playing today than there were 40 years ago. And the tech advances go both ways. Tiger certainly reaps the rewards of that tech but so does the competition.
More golfers means more comp. Tiger also had to clear many more hurdles than Jack did. Not to mention his wack job father and the pressures that brought with it.
Prayers to Tiger for a full recovery. Quite honestly we all should be thankful that Tiger is alive.

Yeh that’s the thing. The level of talent in golf once Tiger hit his 30s was at an all time high ironically all because of him.
holy shit, I'm no doctor but seems like he's lucky he didn't lose that leg.
