There was nothing to this from the start once the initial hysteria passed and the actual facts came out.
It's pretty black and white. If he was over the limit, then he should pay the same penalty as any one of us. If he wasn't over the limit, then the charges should absolutely be dropped.

He wasn't and they were. There was no special treatment for anyone. What are you carrying on about?

I am not carrying on about anything. It sounds like you agree with me.
The officer wrote that the rocker “smelt strongly of alcohol” Nov. 14 and “had glassy eyes” and that there was a bottle of Patron tequila that was “completely empty.”
The report described Springsteen as “visibly swaying back and forth” during a field sobriety test and said he declined to provide a sample on an initial breath test.

then he blew a .02? lol. .02 is like 1 beer. Either the officer is a liar or the BAC test was falsified.

Hmmm....I'm one of that crowd. But I was also 100% on Bruce's side when the facts were released. He did nothing wrong and the cops were over zealous. I never want to see *anyone* unjustly treated. No matter what I think of them personally. I think a lot more people should feel the same.
drinking and driving and driving while drunk or impaired. Open containers get you a fine and only a fine as long as you're under the legal limit. Bruce was under the limit. I think this is more than fair. Could even make the case it's unfair to even pay a fine since it's not illegal to drink. But whatever works.

It's illegal to drink in that particular park because it's federal land, I believe. The law, however, has only been on the books for a couple of years so he likely didn't even know about it.
A lot of folks were happy to pile on him when the news first broke.
Yeah. A lot of us are. He's only some musician who is responsible for a lot of annoying songs. You'd have to be a wacko to take a few jokes about celebrities so personally, same goes for players on the Giants.
I didn’t attend any on that tour, but HBO aired one of them and I loved it - been to a bunch of concerts in the past 20 years. Prior to that he was just the Rambo ripoff from the 80s to me.
I've been to 8 Bruce concerts in three countries (USA, Canada, & Switzerland). He delivers quite a show, to state the obvious. A bucket list for me is to see him perform in Ireland...perfect combination of my favorite artist & my favorite place to visit.

Wow. A rambo ripoff from the 80's? You do know most of Bruce's best music was done in the 70's.
I was born in the 80s though and only associated Bruce with his MTV music videos until I listened to his whole catalog years later. That’s what I meant about the reunion shows - they motivated me to dig a little deeper.

Nah, that never happens. Never. (sarcasm off).
Growing up in NJ in the 1970's Bruce was my favorite
I will admit though that personally my interest in him as waned as he became more political later in life (at least outwardly). I really only listen up to his Darkness album now, anything after that not so much.
Can we vote route 9 off this site or at least force him
To switch his name? You want to say jersey sucks fine, but to do it in the same breath as saying Bruce as a lot of annoying songs! You sir don’t deserve the right to call yourself the 5th ugliest highway in America.

I've earned that name, biotch! I think I've spent more time on that road than not on it.

Up to born in the usa. Liked some of that album. Didn't connect to his albums afterwards until letters to you. There are some great songs on this album.
Dancing in the Dark - I think that video sucks more than the song does. I used to think that was an OK song but then the vid kind of ruined it.
The guy isn’t a very good dancer. If this is the video I’m thinking of, he looks kind of like the ape swinging luggage around in that old Samsonite commercial.
Maybe he can bring back the old beer commercial espousing having one for the road.
Not gonna get all high and mighty, but in these days of very limited drinking/driving tolerance, tossing back a couple shots and immediately hitting the road, is an extremely bad look.
We went back inside sat down had a few drinks
But all he kept talking about was Glory Days.
I saw it. Not bad.

so drinking and driving is bad unless you are a celeb?

He blew a 0.2 in a state where the min is 0.8. There was no case for DUI.

Huh? Think you messed up your decimal places
I think the Miz and Bruce are going to come looking for you...
he was born to run!

Yes, this includes 1985 fake tough guy Bruce.

.8? Wow they can really hold their liquor over there in Joisey
Shut up and Sing!
Seriously I don't see what this has to do with Shut Up and Sing.

License, registration, I ain't got none
But I got a clear conscience 'bout the things that I done

Noted, sorry I didn't understand at first.

Go back and read the initial thread on this topic. The whining was impressive.

I love Bruce. My favorite artist of all time, with Dylan a very close second.
Bruce was the first concert I ever attended, 1999 or so. Wasn't as bad as I'd thought it would be.
New Jersey sucks, by the way. It's nothing to be proud of.

Let's make him name the annoying songs first.
The one where he starts off the song asking a little girl if her dad is home or something. What weirdo writes/sings creepy lyrics like that?
Not only that, that song sucks ass.

Do you have the name of the song?
As a Bruce fan I agree there are anoying songs. I'll name one that will probably get shit for..,.,
Dancing in the dark.
Not sure where that useless reply (that was old in 2012) came from.
Song by Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band.
Dancing in the Dark - I think that video sucks more than the song does. I used to think that was an OK song but then the vid kind of ruined it.

Are you trying to be an asshole? Or just lightheartedly drifting into asshole territory? I can’t really tell
