@DDuggan21 I'm told the Giants and senior director of football information Jon Berger have parted ways. Berger, who began working for the Giants in 1981, assisted the coaching staff and front office with research and analysis. Really, he was their first analytics employee. |

@DDuggan21 Replying to @DDuggan21 Berger told me it's an "amicable separation." "I thoroughly enjoyed my tenure with the Giants," Berger said. "Met some amazing people along the way and have so many incredible memories." |
😂
BTW, Jon read BBI regularly.

Showed my young sons a great time back at camp in the Eli years.
Good luck Jon.

Best of Luck in whatever you choose to do Jon!

I'm more interested in NYG recruiting CEOs from Manhattan that can help in both data analytics as well as detecting character flaws in interviews. They're out there, you just need to know where to look.
Or he got frustrated every time he wanted to call out for lunch on his office line but Dave was using dial up internet connection and it compromised the entire telecommunication system at the facility. Apparently Dave keeps searching for early bird dinner specials in Fort Lee.

Hear, hear. He was a good friend to BBI, and many of us old timers. He will be missed. Great guy, great Giants fan, great friend. Good luck on your future, Jon!
Definitely looks that way

For a guy who has already been banned once, came back as another handle for an entire year and continued to do nothing but add little pithy shit like this, you'd think the cuntery would've stopped long ago.
Again - you are a poster who exists here to agitate, has been banned, came back to agitate - had to lose that handle and are back again. To agitate.
Pretty sad.

What do you think it means? Do they want a more advanced analytics guy in charge?
He was with the team since 1981 and became an important right-hand man for many of the head coaches here. I only met with him briefly but he is an impressive guy.
BTW, Jon read BBI regularly.
I hope he read BBI only to gauge fan sentiment and not for insight.

The sad part is you thinking any of above is correct. My guess is someone who thought you were annoying trolled you for a good bit. Lord knows that can only be about a hundred people on this site based on your popularity.
Love the pithy though...that's all me.

I think you and FMiC are a lot more alike than either of you realize.
Ironically, I'm sure Jon enjoyed reading the analytics "experts" on BBI over many a cold beer and probably had to suppress several snarfs to avoid choking on his sudsy inhales!

Remember when you thought that trading higher picks for a guy than the picks you receive in return was a riddle that was suitable for analytics?
Or when you tried to aggregate individual separation stats as some sort of whole-team stat?
Good times. You sure do know a lot about analytics. Quite the "expert."
Unlike posters who claim to be experts and then sound like idiots or have incomplete information and run with it.
By the way - the Wentz trade wasn't an exercise in analytics - but it isn't a good trade for the Eagles at all. If you're contorting to try and say it is - you might want to rethink the whole idea of who is being contrarian.

Ironically, from an analytics standpoint, the trade is really bad. They gave up a ton of future draft capital to get Wentz and are trading him for a very small return. They gave up two 1st round picks and 5 picks in total.

Is there anyone on this site that you don't bitch about and argue with about everything. You're intolerable and it's shocking you haven't been banned yet.

It's truly remarkable how he walked face-first into that one.
It's hard to gaslight on a message board that doesn't let you delete posts, I guess.
I like the lower-case singular version of you better.

I like the confusion it brings. I'm actually a Plato though.
Once, he got my relatives in Texas tickets for a Giants away game against Dallas. The tickets were waiting for them at the box office. I had to fight with Jon to get him to accept payment for the tickets.
And then believe the opposite...
It’s hard for me to get behind any changes that Big Blue is making because I don’t trust leadership but hey, it’s not like things are going to get any worse. If this means our analytics will be better, and I have no idea where our analytics rank among the other NFL teams then that’s great.
Does anyone know if this means a big change or is there someone that Jon’s been grooming to succeed him?
that includes self moderating for those clueless souls who don't realize how much they bring down the value of this place with the needless back and forth sniping.
