Giants part ways w/ Sr. Director of Football Info Jon Berger

@DDuggan21

I'm told the Giants and senior director of football information Jon Berger have parted ways. Berger, who began working for the Giants in 1981, assisted the coaching staff and front office with research and analysis. Really, he was their first analytics employee.

Replying to @DDuggan21

Berger told me it's an "amicable separation."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my tenure with the Giants," Berger said. "Met some amazing people along the way and have so many incredible memories."

Does this mean they want to get

I'm more interested in NYG recruiting CEOs from Manhattan that can help in both data analytics as well as detecting character flaws in interviews. They're out there, you just need to know where to look.

Or he got frustrated every time he wanted to call out for lunch on his office line but Dave was using dial up internet connection and it compromised the entire telecommunication system at the facility. Apparently Dave keeps searching for early bird dinner specials in Fort Lee.

For a guy who has already been banned once, came back as another handle for an entire year and continued to do nothing but add little pithy shit like this, you'd think the cuntery would've stopped long ago.

Again - you are a poster who exists here to agitate, has been banned, came back to agitate - had to lose that handle and are back again. To agitate.

Pretty sad.
Didn’t know of his connections to many of you here

Pretty cool. And if he goes back to 1981, he’s contributed to 4 Super Bowl titles, and a lot of great Giants moments over the years. Admirable career

He was with the team since 1981 and became an important right-hand man for many of the head coaches here. I only met with him briefly but he is an impressive guy.

It..
FatMan in Charlotte : 2/26/2021 8:33 am : link
is completely on par for Googs to use a thread about one of the more respected and intelligent members of the organization to try and feign ignorance at being a previously banned dupe.

Ironically, I'm sure Jon enjoyed reading the analytics "experts" on BBI over many a cold beer and probably had to suppress several snarfs to avoid choking on his sudsy inhales!

Remember when you thought that trading higher picks for a guy than the picks you receive in return was a riddle that was suitable for analytics?

Or when you tried to aggregate individual separation stats as some sort of whole-team stat?

Good times. You sure do know a lot about analytics. Quite the "expert."
When I claim..
FatMan in Charlotte : 2/26/2021 10:04 am : link
to be an expert in analytics, I'll make sure to let you know.

Unlike posters who claim to be experts and then sound like idiots or have incomplete information and run with it.

By the way - the Wentz trade wasn't an exercise in analytics - but it isn't a good trade for the Eagles at all. If you're contorting to try and say it is - you might want to rethink the whole idea of who is being contrarian.

You mean this isn't your post?

Ironically, from an analytics standpoint, the trade is really bad. They gave up a ton of future draft capital to get Wentz and are trading him for a very small return. They gave up two 1st round picks and 5 picks in total.
Wonder if Jon Berger spit up his cold beer

Jon was indeed a good guy. Whenever we met at training camp

Once, he got my relatives in Texas tickets for a Giants away game against Dallas. The tickets were waiting for them at the box office. I had to fight with Jon to get him to accept payment for the tickets.

I didn’t know Jon but it seems like he had a personal connection with a lot of long time BBIers.

It’s hard for me to get behind any changes that Big Blue is making because I don’t trust leadership but hey, it’s not like things are going to get any worse. If this means our analytics will be better, and I have no idea where our analytics rank among the other NFL teams then that’s great.

Does anyone know if this means a big change or is there someone that Jon’s been grooming to succeed him?
this is where a little moderating
fkap : 2/27/2021 9:08 am : link
could do wonders for this site. Not much use in having a code of conduct if it isn't going to be somewhat enforced.

that includes self moderating for those clueless souls who don't realize how much they bring down the value of this place with the needless back and forth sniping.
