but the one time I remember getting choked up and almost crying was the scene near the end of Schindler's List when Schindler started weeping, lamenting that he could've helped save more Jews. I usually don't like long movies. SL was an exception. When it was over, I didn't realize 3 hours had passed.

So much to get into leading up to that. Kinda geeky but...For starters, it was highly rumored one or both of CPT America and Ironman were going to be killed off. Both of their contracts were up and that was a big theory. At that point in the battle, the two remaining avengers (Thor and Ironman were knocked out and Thanos had just whaled on CPT America. His shield broke in half and he was limping. In front of him was the whole Army of Thanos You kind of thought ok, this was it, this is where he gets killed, but you admired he was still going to go out and fight until then end...and then, "On your left..."

You know... I'm no huge Star Wars fan by any means, but that entire scene was really well done. I particularly like Hamill's facial expression as he released the torpedoes. It conveyed so well the magnitude of the moment, what was riding on those torpedoes hitting home.

When colonel Shaw makes his way to the front of the regiment for their charge on Fort Wagner. The whole movie and music provides plenty of moments like this.

with this and mention it often when threads like this come up, but "Children of Men" is one of my favorite movies ever if not my favorite.

The "Cease Fire" scene definitely gave me chills. That entire 10 minute sequence as a whole was just awesome.

It's one of my favorite movie endings of all time with the student (protagonist) and the teacher (antagonist) testing the other's will and surprisingly turning the tables on each other over the final 10 minutes before reaching a mutual respect.

the opening of Rocky, with the full screen letters scrolling right to left, that 15-20 second overture is just beautiful.

where I prefer the cinematic version over the book...but, Roy Hobbs smacking the HR to win the pennant in The Natural.

Also love about 20 minutes earlier, the scen in the Judge's office.

But, Han saying to Chewie, "We're home" turned me back to a little kid for a moment.

I agree with the earlier mention of Han showing up to clear Luke's way in New Hope.

But The Dark Knight Rises when Batman shoots the enemy bat tank, and the police erupt down the street to take on the mob of criminals. Also when Batman is fighting bane later in that scene and slowly starts winning the fight, it’s classic good vs evil.

In the hockey world they've actually renamed those suicides to "Herbies"

ask my kids if they want to do Herbies, lol, they all yell "we play for the Lady Flames" before we even start doing them, thinking that will end it, but we do them for endurance not as a punishment. Have to admit the first time I heard them I laughed.
