Not a good start in the NFL, anyone have any idea what happened over there? Says they might not be looking for “much” according to this article. Late round pick for him? Link - ( New Window )
The kid has had so many issues. I'll say this. During covid as a rookie he broke a rule by going to a college party. When the police came he jumped out of a second story window so he wouldn't get caught. That right there shows his lack of judgment and lack of maturity. Yet, after he was disciplined, he was still breaking rules. I could be wrong about this but I think he got a DUI. There are too many issues with him. If you are an established team and you want to take a chance on him then great. He is not even a consideration for us.

But you have to admit, an offensive lineman with the physical ability to jump out a second floor window and run away is pretty impressive.
Offensive Assistant, is the son of Vince Dooley, longtime coach and AD at UGA. Kirby Smart played for Vince. I would be sure that Derek would have access to Kirby or anyone on his staff about anytime he wanted.
He's got talent. But, if he couldn't adapt to Vrabel's rules, are Judge's going to be a good fit for him?
Robbie - you pretty much captured everything he's done. Some players are more immature. That could be an issue you work with while he grows out of it. But, my concern is what has he done that we do not know about. He's a 1st round pick and they're ready to walk away and admit they will not get much for him.
Biggest question was posed by Titan's GM Robinson - "Does he want to play football?"

Between him and Baker, it makes you wonder what the fuck the coaches were doing at UGA.
UGA, just like any big-time college football program, is a pretty controlled environment. After getting drafted in the first round, you suddenly have millions of dollars of signing bonus money, plenty of time, and no one watching you. What would you be doing at that age? I think Tomlinson said that he had to work much harder at Alabama than being a pro.
I’d take a chance on him as a free agent, when he inevitably gets released from the Titans. I would not trade a draft pick for him under any circumstances.

Depends on the culture your grew up in. I might not have his size, talents, or money, but I know for certain I wouldn’t be jumping out of windows and running from the cops lol. I think this guy clearly lacked some father figures types in his life.

Yea I sort of agree. Have a ZERO tolerance approach, one wrong move you’re out of here. Unless Thomas has some objections since they played with each other.

It's a fair question to an extent...
But every program, especially the major ones, have a huge basket of good apples. And a few bad. Some things get reported. Some things don't. But a lot of really good people have come out of that program. So I'd be careful not to paint with too broad a brush.
They will surely do their due diligence like every other team that liked him in the draft. We're talking about a kid from Brooklyn who just turned 22 a couple weeks ago. He was a 1st round pick for a reason. It's not like it would shock the world if he turned things around. I'll leave it up to Gettleman and Judge to determine the chances of his success. If they have a plan that puts him in a position to succeed both on and off the field, he is easily worth a mid-round pick. If they don't have a plan for him, he isn't worth anything.

Georgia is a big time program within the SEC. And Athens, GA actually offers a pretty enticing environment to have more than just a good time for those not exactly there for an education.
The UGA football team has always had its fair share of discipline problems, some years under Richt were ridiculous actually. Kirby Smart has had some issues as well but so far he has shown the ability to recruit much better and win more often so he gets more of a pass.
