Game is at 8:30 p.m. tonight. I don't see any news on Payton as of yet. We are still currently in sole possession of 4th place in the east. Winning this game would go a long way in the standings with one more game against Detroit remaining. Being up 3 games over .500 is better than 1 game (no shit). The east is not the west by any stretch but the east is a really tight race right now.
Let's take the next 2 and go to the break 20-17..
Looking forward to watching Vessell I have heard his defense is for real.
Let's go Knicks
I watched Nets-Spurs last night, or most of it. Spurs took them to OT. They may not be big-name but they're good and Pop has them playing hard as you would expect. Derozan is an all-star level player. Murray is a pretty good PG. And their young C Poeltl (sp?) impressed me as well.
I agree
That's why it's so weird that Thibs doesn't play him more.
Would seem like a Thibs player.
Hopefully, this opportunity earns him time in the rotation.

That plays harder than Frank on the defensive end. He really does give it his all. It becomes contagious. Not a player I look to move. He can play on anyone’s (in the league) second unit with that effort. (As long as IQ picks up the offense, grin,)

It's good to see Frank step up given the chance. Wish Knox would do the same.
It's not weird at all. He's useless on offense and his defense is overrated as hell by his fan club. Good (not great) ball defender, lousy help defender.
I'm surprised a local TV/radio station hasn't scooped CP up yet - he's a natural. I forgot to listen this afternoon, but I'll check out the podcast later.
Here is the video. I'll give Max this, at least he went out of his way to promote @KnicksFanTv
multiple times. That being said, not really sure why the media insists the fans atone for Dolan. We didn't pick the owner.

His shooting form is very good. He will become a serviceable offensive player with continued growth each year. He is 22!! It won’t be woth the Knicks but Frank will be in the NBA for a very long time.

Wow, you would think he went to Duke with the way that you're judging him but seriously folks, how is Franks a lousy help defender? I don't see help-defense as a weakness as the times I have watched him, he has been a responsible teammate as far as fulfilling his rotation responsibilities off the ball. But perhaps I am missing something
He is a good on ball defender I won't deny that. He also is very sound fundamentally- moves off the ball and after passing the ball, shares the rock etc. But he has very little if any offensive game.
I hope he can turn in to a serviceable player providing good defense, knocking down 3s. But fans need to be honest about the current state of his game. This is his 4th season in the league...

He started strong and went into a slump and other guys started playing better so he lost time. Whose minutes is Knox taking? They are clearly giving Toppin time to develop, but he is the only guy he can take minutes from right now. Should we throw in the towel in Toppin?

Am I in practice? Yawn. Such a lazy question. 3 coaches have all decided he's not worthy of a major role. Yeah, if Obi Toppin is in year 3 and he's looking like Kevin Knox, I'd be completely comfortable throwing in the towel (as would the Knicks). Knox sucks, he's done nothing to suggest he's going to be a good NBA player. Enough with this "came out too early". He's in his THIRD NBA season. Players are busts, it happens.
“The Knicks **continue** to make third-year forward Kevin Knox available, leading to speculation that he too could be involved in a hypothetical [Andre] Dummond trade,” wrote Sam Amico of FortyEightMinutes. “Drummond reportedly would welcome a trade to New York.”
Guess they should hit up practice and see what he's up to.
Great. Please quote me. He sucks. The absolute best case is a 3 point shooter off the bench. Can't crack the rotation minus Robinson despite WWW in the FO and Kenny Payne on the bench. His trade value is likely an expiring deal or a 2nd round pick.
Looks like knox wasn’t available in rose trade
I'll defend him. I mean literally, I can defend him on the court as long as I don't have to go through too many screens.
:-)
And Greg, what did we tell you? - ( New Window )
Frank can be a valuable player but he'll never sniff starting minutes as long as he doesn't bring anything to the table offensively. He's a fine bench swiss army knife defensive stopper and I have no problem with him getting 15-20 mpg.
But Knox will be traded soon and that's fine.

And that proves they aren't shopping Knox? yikes. That's some leap. They got back... Dennis Smith Jr's contract and a 2nd round pick lol.

Knox for Mo Bamba. Who says no?

Good question. Looks like the Magic don't think Bamba can play the 4 as they have players like Birch/Aminu playing over him and they obviously are set at center. That's the kind of deal I expect the Knicks to make (and hope it's something of that nature) vs. a pure veteran ala another Rose deal. Bamba does have the best d rating on the Magic roster so he does have that going for him. I'd be lying if I claimed I watched much of the Magic this season.

The Knicks? I don't think they make that trade.

Giannis Antetokounmpo says no - ( New Window )
Knox should be in the G-league.
Is that a joke? I could see that when he retires/enough time has passed to cool off how he left, but now? Odd timing.
GO KNICKS!!!!
He is definitely on a short leash plus he is the type that will try and shoot himself out of a slump.
Thibs has handled him well.
If he is going Thibs rides him but if he is 1-6 he is done.
Quickley is a scorer first and is okay at everything else right now.
