NFT: Knicks vs. Spurs

robbieballs2003 : 3/2/2021 12:28 pm
Game is at 8:30 p.m. tonight. I don't see any news on Payton as of yet. We are still currently in sole possession of 4th place in the east. Winning this game would go a long way in the standings with one more game against Detroit remaining. Being up 3 games over .500 is better than 1 game (no shit). The east is not the west by any stretch but the east is a really tight race right now.

For a 23-year old, Obi Toppin sure doesn't look comfortable

Because of one game?
Guys Frank isn’t a point guard, we have all agreed on this many times
GMEN46 : 3/2/2021 10:48 pm : link
Why are we blaming Frank for Thibs putting him at PG. why are you getting so mad at a guy that we have already agreed isn’t a PG? But I’ll tell you what he can become a pretty solid 3 and d shooting guard or small forward. How about the outside shooting from Frank. You guys can’t even admit the improvement in the outside shooting, the confidence. Forget him as a PG, why can’t he be a solid SG/SF? 20-25 minutes a night including closing time against good teams in a tight game when you have Randle, RJ and the future PG on the floor.
game like tonight
nygiants16 : 3/2/2021 10:54 pm : link
is why people are advocating for another scorer, Randle was off tonight, when randle isnoff the offense goes down the shitter..

Need another guy who can get you 20 on a nightly basis..
RJ and IQ may come around
Kev in Cali : 3/2/2021 10:59 pm : link
But it's not looking great. Agree; if Randle doesn't play lights out, who's on deck?

This is a troll but I'm not sure why it exists.
Alan Hahn was talking aboit the Windhorst report
nygiants16 : 3/3/2021 8:21 am : link
on his facebook live last night, he thinks it is Booker, he is going to want a bigger market..

He also said people have been whispering in his ear Kawhi Leonard, but he said he doesnt believe Kawhi will leave his home state...
That Kawhi thing is bullshit
Ten Ton Hammer : 3/3/2021 8:24 am : link
Nobody knows what that guy is thinking.
Booker's
Jon in NYC : 3/3/2021 8:31 am : link

The catch is the Suns are great now. 2nd in the West. Can't ask out of that situation.

Exactly but what happens when cp3 leaves?

Wes is very close with Booker so you know hr is in his esr
He's not really "stuck" in phoenix though
Ten Ton Hammer : 3/3/2021 8:42 am : link
He's now a two-time all star, they paired him up with Chris Paul and they're going to be playoff team, he's dating a kardashian and getting to live out his fame fantasies.

He's "stuck" in the crowded west though, and the Suns are notoriously cheap. I don't really buy the stuff about market though. He gets plenty of coverage. I feel like Dame Lillard is more of an afterthought than Booker.

Lol I mean it depends on how you feel about Phoenix. I've never been, and I've heard good things, but if I'm 25 and an NBA All Star I'd probably rather be in a bigger city.
booker is signed for 3 seasons after this one...
Italianju : 3/3/2021 9:05 am : link
he doesnt have much leverage to force a trade and def not the leverage to force it to a team of his choice. It has to be someone much closer to FA in my opinion. And i mean we all want it to be a stud like booker or beal, but when these reporters talk about a star they could easily be talking about oladipo or a player of his level.

This team needs a guy who can create his own offense other then randle. Last night was tough to watch. RJ can do it sometimes but not enough (yet, maybe he gets there but not yet), IQ same thing.
Oh well

He definitely played. 2-5 from 3, 1 rebound, that's it. He can shoot a bit and other than that is basically completely useless as a basketball player. I'd rather have the dude from our G League team.
Knicks were due for a stinker given that they were playing
Del Shofner : 3/3/2021 9:18 am : link
without any point guard and 2 of their 3 C's out as well.

I think Thibs actually tanked this game, much he's generally the anti-tanker.

Beat Detroit tomorrow and we go into the ASB above .500.
Bad night
TyreeHelmet : 3/3/2021 9:21 am : link
It happens. They lean so heavily on Randle that when he can't score or create, their offense can't score. Nights like that is when they need RJ to be more aggressive in shooting and creating. He only took 9 shots last night. And the Spurs seemed to hit every shot and got every call... just one of those games.

- It's obvious but they need to upgrade from Bullock. He really needs to be bench player and not a starter.

- Frank's shoot looks much improved. He clearly can't play point but he deserves a shot as a wing.

- Toppin really struggles on all facets of defense. I know its ridiculously early but can he really be a starter for a good NBA team?

Get the win on Thursday in Detroit and be above 500 going to the break. All things considered that is a fantastic 1st half.

Lastly, anyone find Alan Hahn's background with the emmys ridiculous?
I think Noel
Enzo : 3/3/2021 9:25 am : link
had four opportunities for dunks under the rim and he botched every single one into a turnover. He might actually be getting worse.

Well that's news to me, although I'd venture a guess that it's much lower in rankings in terms of actual fanbase.

Phoenix
TyreeHelmet : 3/3/2021 9:38 am : link
Everybody is different, but the Phoenix area is an awesome place to live and play as an NBA player. Great weather outside the summer when they don't need to be there, great nightlife, low cost of living.

The issue the Suns are going to have are CP3's future and Sarver's cheapness. That could lead to issues but I don't see any young players itching to leave that area...

Lol I was going to say... quite the low floor for him playing well. 19 minutes 2-5 from 3, 1 rebound, 0 assists, 0 steals... he did absolutely nothing last night he hasn't done all season. Solid from 3, absolutely nothing else. Last night neither raised his trade value or gave him an argument for more PT unless it's "well he wasn't laughably bad"

New York Knicks rookie point guard Immanuel Quickley has already made history, making 94 of his first 100 free throws in the NBA. Those 94 makes are the most any player has made in his first 100 attempts in the last 20 seasons.

It’s kind of interesting that the Knicks broadcast team were wondering about that a couple games ago when he did it, and reached out to Alias Sports to ask if anyone else had ever done better and were told they didn’t have that info and would get back to them. Later in the game they said when Alias looked into it the stats for that only went back twenty years and in that time no other player had ever equaled that number. So I guess the Knicks broadcast team gets an “assist” for Quickley getting recognized for that.
They need another player exactly like him

Do you think there's any chance the team that has him doesn't match whatever offer is made? Where else are we getting a PG who can dish and shoot 40% from 3?

Lonzo would have to scare the Pelicans into trading him, i.e. turn down any extension offers and threaten to play on the qualifying offer next season and then become unrestricted in 2022. Very few players have managed to pull that off.

I think if Lonzo does come available, multiple teams and going to want him and I'm not sure that offer is all that great. Would depend on how many picks and their respective protections.

But yeah, Obi plays the same position as our best player and we need guards to build around.
It's the Pelicans
Ten Ton Hammer : 3/3/2021 2:04 pm : link
They may not be able to spend the money to keep him if he keeps shooting like this.

To be clear, i'd be in favor of a Lonzo trade.
