Kyle Van Noy

May get cut, would save Miami $9.75M in cap. Would be a HUGE get for the Giants if they can get it done cap wise.

in non-DL pressures last year. Knows the system. Seems like an obvious fit. Already has said great things about Judge.
if he's cut he would be ideal
GiantsFan84 : 3/2/2021 1:26 pm : link
good player who is familiar with the type of system and would not count against the comp pick formula
Confirmed cut
The Dude : 3/2/2021 1:27 pm : link
.

he's avail to sign before the FA period because he got cut right?
I remember being intrigued when he was a FA
UConn4523 : 3/2/2021 1:27 pm : link
not sure how he played this past season but he’s the type of player that would work well here.
Yeah
UGADawgs7 : 3/2/2021 1:30 pm : link
Apparently was confirmed before I posted this but didn’t see that part. My bad.

That is correct
Worth a look
Sammo85 : 3/2/2021 1:35 pm : link
Fits in with the style of defense/deployment up front. Has a little tread on him, but might be a good fit for at least a year or two as long as the money isn't crazy. Him and Martinez at LB wouldn't be awful.
I wonder if there’s
bubba0825 : 3/2/2021 1:41 pm : link
An attitude issue with him, he was traded from Detroit now now cut after the 1st year of a contract. Maybe New England was the best spot for him?

You may be seeing something that is not there. Van Noy's career really took off in New England as he didn't really start in Detroit until the year he got traded.

Flores knew all about him when he signed in Miami. If there was an attitude problem, Flores would have known about him.

I'm sure Judge knows him well too. If he signs here, I don't expect any issues.
My opinion
UGADawgs7 : 3/2/2021 2:50 pm : link
Is Miami will go hard for Watson and the near $10M cap savings would help salary cap wise.
turning 30 in March
ryanmkeane : 3/2/2021 4:38 pm : link
and he's being cut after 1 season on the Dolphins, that doesn't give me great hope about this guy
I've read that Trey Hendrickson could be a cap casualty
Section331 : 3/2/2021 4:55 pm : link
in NO. Only 26 and had 13.5 sacks, might be worth a look if he shakes loose.

Isn't he a UFA?

You're right, he is. I read an article yesterday about NO's cap situation, and it mentioned him as a possible cut. Someone didn't do their homework.

Thought that before this. Mia. offers up Tua & 2 1sts & see where that gets them.
I wouldn’t mind Van Noy
JoeyBigBlue : 3/4/2021 2:22 pm : link
On a cheap 1 year deal. But I’d rather bring back Fackerell for another 1 year deal.
I've been thinking about this for 2 days now
D HOS : 3/4/2021 2:27 pm : link
And I really want this guy on our team. Our defense would be very strong, not only from talent but having leadership and "team" off the scale. If a squad was ever more than the sum of it's parts (and ours surely was last year), Van Noy is the kind of guy that makes that happen.

Also if any of our young guys have any kind of future ahead of them, Van Noy I think would be a massive positive influence for that.

Not quite the impact the AP signing but *possibly* could be in that vicinity?
I'd look into him
JonC : 3/4/2021 2:49 pm : link
but would prefer they also look in on Reddick and Lawson, if cost is within the cap framework. We need Edge talent and prefer players in the 25-27 range to fit the window.
Sounds like this would be an Antonio Pierce like signing.

On the tail of his career (30 this year), coming off injury, proven vet, with great leadership.

- Had decent stats on Miami/NE teams
- Was overpaid with his Miami deal, and no takers on a trade because of hip injury, so they let him go.

This could be a good fit.

This is probably a huge question mark -
Kev in Cali : 3/5/2021 5:16 am : link
'I am surprised and disappointed in their decision," Van Noy told Garafolo. "As a captain, I gave my all to the team. I fought through a painful hip injury during the season, including spending a night in the hospital after a game. I was brought there to be a leader, and I know my teammates looked up to and respected me."

He's got some left in the tank me thinks.

I agree with your post, but Pierce was 27 (I believe) when signed, and only in his fourth year.
