It's legal...I can't seem to find a thing except for these ridiculous club memberships where you have to make an appointment a couple of days out and pay ridiculous fees just for the honor of being one of their customers.
Won't be till at least November before recreational is available. They have to guarantee they have enough supply for medical before they can expand and there's still a lot to do on the government side
over 9 months in MA before the first retail establishment opened once the bill officially passed. No idea how long it will take in NJ, but just sharing the MA experience.
MA governor was against it, so maybe he dragged his feet.

NJ Gov already dragged his feet for ~3 months before finally signing the bills (voters passed it last Nov by a wide margin).

Same in MA. And then every application had to go through hoops, part of it was feet dragging, but part also was the state simply wasn't prepared.

To be fair, that wasn't the governor... he was ready to sign it. It was the legislature arguing semantics about under 21 use/punishment and other things like that
they voted to legalize in 2018, and the first licenses are not expected to be issued until 2022.
NJ is expected to get underway substantially sooner, since they already went through the dithering and arguing phase in the years leading up to and months after the vote in Nov 2020.
Murph signed the law legalizing it, and a "Cannabis Commission" (appointed the day after the signing) has 6 months by law to hammer out the details with respect to the market, regulations, licenses, etc. So the earliest you can expect to see legal weed for sale for recreation is September. Optimistic estimates are for the end of 2021. Of course, any delay should not be surprising since this is NJ we are talking about- but the whole operation seems like it is being executed with a mind toward realistic deadlines and conscious of avoiding delays.

I believe Murphy and the entire legislature are on the ballot in Nov. Seeing as 67% of NJ wanted it legal, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to buy it before election time! (note the commission conveniently has until September) :-)

Murphy will throw your ass in Jail for circumventing his tax
Screw that. Let's head to Texas or Mississippi and party like it's 2019.

Definitely not legal in TX. They hate when the govt tells people what to do...
