of "older" expensive players let go. Should be a field day for teams with needs. Not sure Rudolph is what the Giants are looking for but guys like Van Noys and such should be.
Got off to a slow start because of injuries, then had a fairly short peak. Nice red zone target, solid chain mover. Improved his blocking to extend his career. Could have remained a Viking, but didn't accept the requisite pay cut.
have been a perfect fit with the Giants. He’s no superstar, but if we got him in here on a 1-2 year reasonable deal and then drafted a guy for him to mentor vs having Toilalo and Engram eating up cap space I’m all for it.
for the money you were paying Toilolo do it. Obvious red zone help and can help as the extra TE too. If he wants to start or be paid like it hard pass.
Always thought he would be the perfect fit with Eli. to bad we couldnt sign him 5 yeara ago

Vikings released veteran TE Kyle Rudolph.
Being discussed by Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan on Sirius right now.
Don't say "no" just based on age thinking we can fill every hole or depth option with a premier FA or draft pick.
We will need guys that can handle a scheme/playbook quickly and understand the NFL speed even if they might be part timers or role players.
This roster still needs a lot of "build" work and glue parts to it.

Agreed.
Beloved figure in the community, though.
Well versed and regarded coaches...should attract players.
....with a much better understanding of of their roster...
So I expect holes should be plugged.
Which one is the better choice?

I totally agree. A true professional at this position for a year or two could really help Jones’ development.
Which one is the better choice?
I’d take Rudolph over Ertz. Ertz has been non stop injured the past few years.
Agreed. With the lower cap now established, there are going to be several waves of these unexpected releases...

You can never have too many players...
who despise the color green.
