not a human addition. We've been looking for a second dog for a while.
The rescue we work with brought up a littler of Rotweiler/Shepherd mixes from Arkansas they call shotties or rottie shepherds or shepweiler - whatever, it's going to be a big dog.
We had the meet and greet tonight and our dog and family all got along great with him. So we pick him up Friday.
He is 11 weeks old right now and has paws like a lion, the people at the rescue said they expect him to grow to 75 - 100 pounds.
We are not keeping the current name, so trying to come up with a better one, any suggestions? I'll post a picture in the next post since I can't get images to work in the OP.
So, I'll play - how 'bout Buddy?
He's a dude, that's kind of a chick name or at least a feminine male.
chain saw?
not sure I got that one - might have gone right over my head.

That may go a long way in naming him.

It was a shot in the dark but there was a thread about acts of God and trees in neighbors yards and who was responsible. I thought that was a funny thread and thought it was you.
I like that, unique.
My next door neighbors dog is Indiana Jones, they call him Indy. A beagle, such a great dog.

I remember the thread, I have had that happen too, but don't remember if I started the thread.
Rot in German is Red, so making a Giants connection, “Big Red” Alex Webster.
So how about “Alex” or “Webster”?
Big Red - ( New Window )
My kids want Pasta (for Pastrnak), Tuukka, Chara, and Charlie so far.
I like Charlie but we have not settled yet because we don't love it and the neighborhood already has a Charlie (a golden doodle)
I like some of these suggestions.

Fine, now I feel bad since I made you sad.
I'll suggest it, but my kids consider Brett the male Karen so I doubt they support it.

Ralph. So when I see a Rott or Rott mix I think Ralph.

He kinda looks like a Webster.
Good on ya pjcas. Enjoy that pup
We had a foster I named Barkley. Nice little dog. Found a good home.
I do like Tonka though, that's cool.
thanks again. I'll report back what we settle on.
We pick him up Friday, than god so I have time to puppy proof the house. Our other dog is 6 and she's like a teenager (well some teenagers), so lazy.
the whole family picks the name, we can't think of a good one, so I'm asking a group of creative people (BBI) for some suggestions (which I will present to the family).
A lot of good ideas generated by the collective minds of BBI.
One recent suggestion from one of my kids is Milo. I don't hate it.

In the long run it will mean more to all of you than using a name cone up with from someone here. Just my two cents.

Thats not bad, especially since one of them came up with it. You only have so many pets in the years a family is together under one roof so imo it’s far more special that naming one is a family “thing”.
Good luck and enjoy him, dogs are the best!
Thanks, and thanks again for all the comments and replies.
We're pretty excited. Our other dog is a 25 pound Corgi/Jack Russel mix who is the best dog you can imagine. I think she will enjoy a friend. We foster dogs pretty regularly, usually puppies, and she gets along with all of them so this won't seem new to her except we will be keeping this one.
"Guinness"

This seems good. My dog was named Baxter which is also a great name.
But just wanted to say good luck and so great you are doing a rescue...we have one from Puerto Rico that we adopted 2 years ago and he is the best!
