Is one of the most important requirements for the future of this team. He showed flashes this past year, hopefully Flats helps him take it to another level.
On a side note, there is a lot of comparison of the T
taken in last years draft. So far I'm pretty happy with AT. He stepped in at LT with new coaching staff a 3rd year starter as well as a fellow rookie next to him and a 2nd year QB. Becton keeps popping into my head because I've probably seen him the second most. He absolutely SWALLOWS defenders, but I truly think his size will be his downfall and that will happen sooner than later. He's just too big for his legs/knees to support. I know I'm a bit off topic but just an observation. i think Thomas will be a staple for a while.
I’m in favor of having as many assistant coaches as possible.
Sale may be the best O-line coach available but Flaherty’s years of experience will help. He couldn’t get through to Flowers but no one could until Flowers experienced 2 reality checks. Anyway, it won’t be Flaherty’s job to communicate with players who aren’t interested.
but my gripe is with management. The biggest job Gettleman had when hired as the GM was to fix the OL. The Giants are now entering the 4th year under his tenure and yet the OL is still a weakness of the team. And now he is considering releasing/trading arguably our best lineman. Not to mention he made the wrong decision in last year's draft by selecting Andrew Thomas over Tristan Wirfs.
I am just still baffled by the fact that the Giants have a record of 15-33 with Gettleman as the GM, yet he's still making crucial decisions for this team.
That OL group all seemed to love Flats. RS was always an amazing story. UDFA, horrific injury that he came back and was a integral part of two championships. Then another bad injury. One tough SOG.

Wirfs was not a better prospect.
Do you not believe playing with Brady and on the right side is an entirely different situation for him? He wouldn't be LT here and Brady has done it years making lineman look better with his quick release.
RE: Thomas is the least of my worries. He's a player
he had a rough start but he worked settled in nicely.
Exactly. We can quibble over which of the 4 OT's is the better player, but Thomas is going to be a very good player for a long time. That's good enough for me.
The national media types that subsist on narrative...
represent the bulk of the remaining Thomas bashers. Jason Fitzgerald from 'Overthecap' had a disparaging throwaway line that I found cringeworthy within the last few podcasts, but this is pretty typical. The number of clicks his sight receives clearly gives him the confidence to act like a credible talent evaluator.

He played OT at St Olaf College
