Well, he's got the Giants selecting the following prospects:
Round One (#11)
DeVonta Smith; WR; Alabama
Round Two (#42)
Alim McNeill; DT; NC State
Round Three (#76)
Michael Carter; RB, UNC
Round Four (#117)
Quincy Roche; EDGE; Miami
No problem whatsoever with DeVonta Smith in Round One, but what's up with taking Alim McNeill DT in Round Two... epecially with Wyatt Davis, Creed Humphrey and Pat Freiermuth still on the Board?
Huge fan of running back Michael Carter out of UNC, but is he a "need"; "value"; or "luxury" pick in Round Three? Note: Center Josh Myers from Ohio State goes one pick later at #77 -- I wouldn't let that guy slip by us.

barkley is coming back from an ACL and may not be the same player as well.
barkley has significant injuries over the last 2 years.
there are no RBs on the roster other than barkley

Agreed, although it depends on what we do in FA. A rookie is cheaper though and could play a big role in the future if Barkley continues to get hurt or wants way too much $$ in a few years.
The last few seasons across the league have proven that you really need two starter level backs on your team if you want to have a strong offense. The only outlier I can think of is Derrick Henry in terms of a one back strategy, but they need to get him a running mate or he’ll be out of the league in 2-3 years.
Examples would be Dalvin Cook (Alexander Mattison gets his share of carries), Zeke (Pollard’s carries have been up), Tampa (Ronald Jones and Fournette), 49ers rotating like 3-4 RB’s, etc.
+1.
Not bad. I'm always most fascinated by RB prospects, and like Carter just fine. But for what I feel the Giants need, I'd much prefer either Jermar Jefferson or Rhamondre Stevenson who should still be there in the 4th or 5th. Stevenson is much bigger than Jefferson, but for short yardage work, I'm not sure that Jefferson might be even more effective.
Also some end of draft or UDFA guys who might fill that role too.
I would love to have a wheeling and dealing draft!
If they lose Tomlinson one of those first 3 rounds will likely be a DT.
