like Safety, TE RB will be the only positions to be tagged. I do hope Dallas tags Prescott and be forced to rework Coopers contract making it harder to cut him. He has 20 guaranteed left and would have to be paid off if cut.
we took the safety from Boise State in front of him. Having watched a lot of Simmons tape, I was like this Boise kid must be really good. Ha! Nice job Reese.

in high school. He went to Martin County High School in Stuart Florida. He dominated. I think we lost 35-0. As good as he was in high school, he has become a lot better pro than I expected.
This seemed like such a slam dunk pick. Remember this vividly. He was right there.
I remember watching his tape, guy never seemed like he missed a tackle and always seemed ro be in the right position, and Reese took Darian Thompson instead bc he made a lot of INTs in the Mountain West Conference. Total blunder. I was chanting Simmons' name at that pick and I know Sy'56 also had him as his preferred pick, and he just took a guy that was just less of a professional player but had INTs. It was so clear Simmons was a real player, too, just a starter quality guy you could plug and play that was playing better comp.
Although, I believe it was the same draft I really liked BJ Goodson in the 4th I think it was and Reese drafted him, and as I recall, that's also who Sy liked. And we didn't stick with Goodson and he's turned into a pretty good linebacker for Cleveland.
MARA, Not DG and Not Reese Pushed this team back....
McAdoo was ready to Move on from Eli, and 2 years Later they forced a Final Eli Push on DG. DG Signed Solder and other "apprarent pieces around Eli", while scooping out the remains of a Dead Roster.
DG started by serving two masters...Mara's desperate need to lie to himself, and the more realistic need to rebuild. It's cost them at least a year.
I think you're right, the attempt to rebuild around Eli cost them
But I think it was worthwhile, even if it didn't turn out. I would have loved to have won one last time with Eli. I believed he was still capable and I don't know how you just jettson that.
Giants are 3 years into a total rebuild I don't think that's an unreasonable amount of time. So what happens this determines how bad a mistake it was.
Where did ya get your tape from?
Thompson wasn’t a bad pick, though he lacked speed. He got hurt, and has still had a decent NFL career. Simmons was a great pick. It happens.
