Round 1 #11 - Micah Parsons LB Penn State:
With all of these recent trades it looks like there’s a possibility that this monster drops right into our laps. I’ll be the first to admit when I was wrong and I was dead wrong on Devin White a few years ago and guess who this guy reminds me of right now? Devin White. Absolute beast against the run and regardless of what people say he is an absolute BEAST rushing the QB as well as well above average in coverage. Put him next to Blake Martinez and we have one of the most solid LB duos in the league.
Round 2 Pick #42 - Teven Jenkins OT Oklahoma St.:
Hopefully he’s still here at this pick as he’s been rising in a lot of mock drafts recently. 6’6” 320 mauler of a tackle that has played all over the OL. Athletic and explosive. He would be an absolute steal of a pick here and a prototypical DG hogmollie.
Round 3 Pick #76 - Dynami Brown WR North Carolina:
Home run threat WR. Great vertical runner who does a lot more than that. Very good blocking WR that can be easily developed into a well rounded route runner as well. Would fit perfectly into this offense as he offers something that the Giants currently lack outside of KG.
Round 4 #116 - Chuba Hubbard RB Oklahoma St.:
With clear question marks surrounding Barkley I think it’s a good idea to draft a potential backup plan and Hubbard would be a good one. He’s an explosive RB that was super productive in between the numbers which is the type of running back that this team needs in my opinion. I saw a good comparison to DeMarco Murray and I think that would be a hell of a pick in round 4.
Round 6 #196 - Malcolm Koonce EDGE Buffalo:
Not the biggest EDGE rusher but was super productive at getting after the QB. A 6th round pick that could provide good depth at the position and a good rotation guy. Would probably be best suited coming in on straight passing downs with one agenda in mind of getting to the QB
Round 6 #201 - Olaijah Griffin CB USC:
Small CB with good ball skills and can be very good on special teams which is key for a 6th round pick especially when Joe Judge is the HC.
1. Kyle Pitts. Might be there if all 5 QBs go in top 10
2. Wyatt Davis. RG. Solves the guard problem
3. Payton Turner Edge
4. Nico Collins WR
6. Rhamondre Stevenson RB
6. Tedarelke Slayton DT
We will see if those folks are still there when we pick ... or how the Giants proceed when they pick.
Can't wait till the draft is over ....
I don't know how valid they are, but the fact is negative reports exist about character and instincts. And then there's this, in this very deep year there's going to be a player there with the same or only slightly less potential who has a higher basement.
Pitt, Chase and Sewell won't be there, I'd almost bet on that. That still leaves some exceptional candidates including Rashawn Slayter who is very safe and became more attractive as we plugged holes with free agency.
This draft, according to management, is about offense and finding weapons and protection for Jones. So I think there's a lot of reasons that Parsons will not be the pick. The only thing in his favor is, that like most of the fans here, I don't know what I'm talkin about. I belong to the endless Legions that watch 16 games a year and tell the full-time professionals what they should do. It could be called "hubris", I prefer to label it grandiosity and false empowerment. Now let me get back to telling you what they should do........
Round 1: OG/OT Rashawn Slater. Versatile, can play guard or tackle, quick for an OL.
Round 2: TE Pat Friermuth. Not particularly fast, but steady hands, works well in the seam, dangerous to defenders after the catch, tenacious blocker. Another TE suggested as a "Baby Gronk".
Round 3: Trade Engram to Texans for 67th pick, DE Carlos Basham. High-floor guy. Holds his gaps in the run game, strong at the point of attack. High motor, can pursue. Mismatch with guards inside with speed and tackles outside with strength on pass rush. Versatile enough to play 3-tech if the need arises.
Round 4: WR Elijah Moore. Slot receiver (will get more on him when the site gets back up).
Round 6: ILB Nate Landman. Depth behind Martinez. Described as a late-round sleeper.
Round 6: DT Neil Farrell. Good run defender, depth behind Lawrence, Johnson, and Hill.

So if we trade Engram for a 3 don't we have two 3rd round picks?

I was thinking more along the lines of swapping picks, they'd get the pick we had (no.76) along with Engram.

But with your considerations in mind, with added 3rd round pick:
Round 1: OG/OT Rashawn Slater. Versatile, can play guard or tackle, quick for an OL.
Round 2: TE Pat Friermuth. Not particularly fast, but steady hands, works well in the seam, dangerous to defenders after the catch, tenacious blocker. Another TE suggested as a "Baby Gronk".

Round 3: OG Aaron Banks. Tough run blocker and reliable pass protector, third-best after Vera-Tucker and Slater (second-best if Slater is not counted). Flexible enough to play either guard position.
It’s kinda hard to go bpa when you don’t know who’s going to be available; you work with projections for that.
He is better than that
He is better than that
Better, you say? Then how come he’s been knocked out of multiple seasons and caused so much trouble for the Giants with half of Jones’ interceptions, to give an example?
I say the same about Slater or Vera: if they start at OG for us as rookies and are an upgrade over what we have in Hernandez or Lemiuex, how can you not be happy?
What we don't want is a guy who struggles and doesn't look like a good pick at all. I'd prefer our first two picks at least contribute as rookies and play really well, elevating the team as the season progresses.
