I can understand that. His team got fucking trounced twice. At least he didnt catch Rooney by surprise by dropping his gloves and unloading on him like Morin did to Lemieux. I know Lemieux can be mouthy, but Morin gave him two nice shots to the head...then pulled his hair down to the ice. Hahaha. While yhe latter part was kinda teh geigh, he did drop a couple of hirt bombs on BL.
have you checked out the schedules remaining for PHIL and BOS? Predominant numbers are vs Sabres and Devils. Yeah, you want to push hard to do the best you can til season's end, but based on schedule alone NYR going up against long odds.
as a not positive: I commented at end of the 8-3 win that I thought the last 25 minutes were some very sloppy and disorganized play in our own end, d-men dropping too hard ('prevent d'?) and backchecking disjointed vs Flyers' rushes, even though Rangers won the period 2-1.
Today, I thought Knoblauch may have protected his guys some in response to Mercogliano's question about whether coach was concerned about the high number of shots Igor faced Thurs and today; coach said yeah, the numbers were high, but what %% were high chance shots, so, not really concerned. What I saw today was a cont' of late Thursday night, tons of space as Philly entered our zone, backchecking late to the attacking wings, lot of space between our d-men, anything but tight. fwiw

Not sure if he's had the practice time to fit in on a line--surely no finely tuned mechanisms 3rd and 4th, so why not?--but hell, the team doesn't want to send another Lias message do, they?
We get so caught up in chasing the Playoffs, which this season was never supposed to be about, so let the kids play. Muddle headed at the top? Sure, the playoffs 'chase' is good experience, but the priority remains player and team development. Are the Rangers over prioritizing skill players vs street smart winners?
