My F*ck Dallas Scenario

HopePhil and Optimistic : 3/27/2021 3:35 pm
Would be for Surtain, Slater and Pitts to be off the board by their pick at 10.

Don’t think they’d take a WR given what they have, and may lean toward either the injury risk Farley or more likely Parsons who might self destruct in their environment. If not they’d probably reach for defense.

Your thoughts?
The better scenario...

The Dallas draft room is warm and everyone falls asleep. The time expires before they make a pick.
I don’t care WHO THEY GET,
Big Blue '56 : 3/27/2021 3:40 pm : link
I really don’t. I care who WE GET, whomever that is.
If that happens
Mike in NY : 3/27/2021 3:43 pm : link
They just draft Sewell

Ok then: 4QBs, Sewell, Slater, Chase, Pitts and Surtain go 1-9 in no particular order.
I dont want Parsons in Dallas.

He may self destruct but he may be phenomenal. Other than that I dont care who they pick either. I have confidence that we will get a game changer at 11

That would definitely be a f*ck Dallas scenario especially if it turns out that teams have QB5 significantly below the rest so nobody wants to trade up to 10
Dallas would take Farley
Chip : 3/27/2021 4:04 pm : link
They have taken injured athletes before like the lb Smith

2nd vs 1st rd is big difference in risk tolerance
Dallas

Dallas wants Horn
Dallas does definitely need a defensive back
Chip : 3/27/2021 4:37 pm : link
and with an aging OL that could be the pick if Slater is there. Those are there big needs.

But, do you really care who we get?
To state the obvious: Dallas had a bad season. They get an early pick.
81_Great_Dane : 3/27/2021 6:13 pm : link
That usually means getting a shot at a big-time prospect. The Giants sucked a little less than Dallas, and that means our team gets a little less of a shot at a big time prospect. That's the NFL. It's not something to get worked up about IMV.

I'll take Dallas picking 10th over Dallas picking 32nd any day. They sucked.

+1

How do you know they won't take a WR?
short lease : 3/27/2021 7:23 pm : link

Their starters are Amari Cooper (26 years old), Michael Gallup (25 years old), and CeeDee Lamb (21 years old) - pretty young staff .... BUT, the only one up there that is proven is Cooper.

They might want to upgrade at the other 2?

This is the answer to the question.
I hope Dallas gets a good player
SleepyOwl : 3/27/2021 7:48 pm : link
Honestly tired of the NFC East being flat out embarrassing. The Giants need to focus on themselves because that’s the only thing they can do.
I can tell you if for some reason Pitts falls to number 10
Rick in Dallas : 3/27/2021 7:57 pm : link
Jerry will be smiling on his yacht again as they race the card up to select Pitts..Cowboys have 6 picks in the first 4 rounds and will address their defense plus OL.
short lease: Dallas WR's
Rick in Dallas : 3/27/2021 8:13 pm : link
Cooper over 1100 yds receiving, Lamb over 900 yds receiving and Gallup over 800 yds receiving and all 3 with over 5 TD catches with Dak on IR the last 11 games of the season.
They have one of the best if not the best young WR trios in the game with Dak coming back.
We could only be that lucky as Giants fans if we had that trio on our team.

WTF? Were you one of the Giants fans rooting for the Eagles to beat the Pats in the SB too.?

I agree with you on the Giants focusing on themselves but to hell with the rest of the teams in the Division. They can’t suck enough for my liking.

Upgrade Cee Dee? He looked pretty good for a rookie with less than optimal QB situation. I also think Gallup will be a good pickup when he leaves Dallas. Can't imagine WR is high on Dallas' list.

I get what your saying wahoo ... but, when it comes to Jerry - who knows what the hell happens.

Here is the ..... problem - in the good ole days we could count on him screwing it up. Now, I think they finally reigned in the control of the draft from him. So they might make a more rational decision.
Why would Parsons
MtDizzle : 7:40 am : link
implode there? They have a much better track record of drafting LBs than we do. Stop letting Dallas live rent free.

This is the answer to the question.

Oh please, you will say that about any Cowboys pick. Horn flashes, has size, and looks great in underwear, but for all of his tools he had a lot of bad tape in college that would be fouls in NFL (sort of like Eli Apple). Surtain had much more consistent production.
Their offense
has a lot of talent but that will depend if that Oline can rebound which is a big question mark. If that engine falls apart so does the season again.

I guess they have to decide between a OL or the BPA of defense. Either way I expect them to compete strongly for the division.
Cowboys have 4 pick in the top 100 and a total of 6 picks in top 150
Rick in Dallas : 10:39 am : link
They are going to address their defense and OL for sure in this draft with premium picks in the first four rounds in a very deep draft.

It wasn't I who said Horn was better than Surtain.

The question was was if these players were off the board, one of them being Surtain, who would Dallas choose? The answer is Horn.

If Surtain is there that's who Dallas will choose.
In today's Dallas Mornings News Mock Draft by Calvin Watkins

First 4 picks are QB's: Lawrence,Wilson,Fields and Lance
The NFC East picks are as follows:
Dallas Patrick Surtain

I think OL. Dak is very over rated but they painted themselves into that corner and paid him. Now unless they fix that OL they aren't competing for anything. He needs Elliot and that OL to make teams stack the box. Like Lynch did for Wilson. Ad he's not as good as Wilson
