For an off-season trade for a C. It also makes room for Kravtsov while getting rid of a forward who they didn't have minutes for and were possibly going to lose for nothing. This is all about positioning themselves ahead of this coming offseason. Kills three birds with one stone. Good move. Lemiuex is a nobody.
but for all the skill players the Rangers are boasting, and yet to come (Panjuniemi, Barron) they still need players who can win in the trenches, especially come Playoffs (likely not 2021). Not saying Lemieux is a keeper, but team needs some blend of guts and grind to complement skill.
Yea....am I the only one who hated every minute Lemieux was on the ice? People hate on Howden, but he is a far better player than Lemieux in my opinion.
Lemieux was TERRIBLE. I wanted him to work out badly too.
they thought Lemieux would have some offense to his game. He really had nothing except he was willing to mix it up. No offense, no defense. Eh, see ya.
Through a prism of conventional wisdom even though current realities don't reflect it. "Grit" doesn't carry you through the season or playoffs. Scoring does.
If you don't believe me, take a look at which teams led the league in scoring last season and which teams are leading in the standings this season.
Hint: It isn't the teams rolling out a gritty bottom 6.
Gauthier and Phil D will split time on the 4th line.

That's a young line, gotta make sure Fox and Lindgren is on the ice alot with them.
He looked VERY bad getting his head pumched in at the end of the game the other night. Thats all I got.
