We will use this as a discussion thread to keep the picks thread uncluttered. These threads will be used for the duration of the draft.
Once a team is on the clock, they will have two hours to make a selection. If a team goes on the clock after 4pm, their two-hour window will roll over to the next day. For example, if you go on the clock at 4:30pm, you will have until 9:30 am to make a selection. Picks may be made between 6pm and 9am if GMs are online and following the draft thread. The time limit only applies during the 9am to 6pm timeframe. If the two-hour time limit expires, I will make a pick using any list that the GM for the team has sent me in advance (send lists to the email address in my profile) or in the absence of a list, I will use the GBN Big Board with a little discretion so as not make an obvious dumb pick (i.e. Kansas City won’t be taking a QB in the 1st round this year). If a GM misses two consecutive picks without providing a prospect list or making some form of contact with me (email or posting on the draft thread) the spot will be reassigned to one of the BBIers who have expressed an interest to fill the vacancy.
Please utilize the
BBI Mock Draft Spreadsheet . The spreadsheet contains the draft order (RD1-7) by team and GM with a fairly comprehensive list of prospects based on the GBN Big Board (as well as several other prospects that did not make the GBN Big Board). I will try to keep the spreadsheet and thread updated as often as possible… Good luck!
Also, it doesn't appear you were paying any attention to what we are doing regardless. If you were, you would see we are just fans having fun. That's all this exercise is. It helps fill in the time until the actual draft happens because like you said, it is a really down time right now.
You don't like it, fine. But frankly, I think ripping on us for running a mock draft is dumb. Like it was said in Bambi, if you have don't have nothing nice to say, don't say nothing at all.
Matt G, are we not doing round 7 at all?? Why are we moving to UDFAs all of a sudden?

Max of 5 UDFAs still applies

As discussed in this thread, we have decided to return to 6 RDs + UDFA.
2.047 Wyatt Davis OG Ohio State
3.077 Trey Smith OG Tennessee
3.097 Milton Williams DT Louisiana Tech
4.118 Tamorrion Terry WR Florida State
5.159 Tre' McKitty TE Georgia
6.185 Charles Snowden OLB Virginia
6.198 Josh Imatorbhebhe WR Illinois
ESPN is killing us for ignoring the hole at left tackle. So be it. We wanted a near-term starting CB, and expected a run on them before our next pick. At least we were right about that part, postponing OL was overly cute - especially opting for Farley over the safer Jaycee Horn.
At LT, Pipkins gets another camp to show he wasn't a mistake. We didn't trust Darrisaw as an immediate answer, and we think Vera-Tucker is a guard (unlike Slater, whom we would have taken if he had gotten past NYG and PHI). Gotta trust the scouts when they are united, as was the case on the OL class. With two quality, rookie guards and Linsley anchoring the middle, we have the option of moving Feiler and Bulaga around if the left side is leaky. Feiler is really a tackle anyway.
The last five picks are fine - decent balance of need, value, and upside. Wanted a safety, a power RB and an ILB, but there was better value elsewhere. so we'll scour the UDFA and SFA markets to fill those needs.
UDFA is first come first serve. Basically whomever posts a name first gets the player. You can get up to 5 UDFA's. If someone has taken someone on your list then you can replace as many times as needed to get to 5. Usually someone is monitoring the thread and will alert to duplicates. Just because misspellings happen it is good to include position and/or school so others know who you are talking about.

Actually, since I probably won't be around for the free-for-all, I might as well share my UDFA targets now, with the understanding that they might still get drafted or signed elsewhere. Priority guys for bonus money would be Blankenship, Slaton, and Smith, though Scott has a great shot at making the roster because the Chargers don't have a pile-movers like him. One of the TEs or safeties could stick too. We're giving Griffin a chance to compete for a backup DB spot because he's a local kid, and that's always worth a feel-good clickbait story or two.
D.J. Daniel CB Georgia
Olaijah Griffin CB Southern California
Tedarrell Slaton DT Florida
Tony Fields ILB West Virginia
Buddy Johnson ILB Texas A&M
Kayode Awosika OT Buffalo
Chris Evans RB Michigan
Steve Scott III RB Indiana
Joshuah Bledsoe S Missouri
Trill Williams S Syracuse
Shawn Davis S Florida
Reed Blankenship S Middle Tennessee
James Wiggins S Cincinnati
Darrick Forrest S Cincinnati
Christian Uphoff S Illinois State
Tony Poljan TE Virginia
Kenny Yeboah TE Mississippi
Kylen Granson TE Southern Methodist
Matt Bushman TE Brigham Young
Shi Smith WR South Carolina
UDFAs must go in the SELECTIONS thread... And can only be posted after Mr. Irrelevant (#228)

2. Jamin Davis, LB, Kentucky
3. Nico Collins, WR, Michigan
4. Tyler Shelvin, IDL, LSU
6. Wyatt Hubert, Edge, Kansas State

For my first time at the Giants' helm, I think I did a fair job. I'm happy with the results. I'm pretty certain Andy in Halifax is especially pleased with my first pick. Feels like an homage to his drafting style.

Just sharing my targets here because I'll probably miss the real scramble on the Selections thread.

Yeah, at a certain point you have to stop the fall. If we had 7, I had two more high picks available.
The UDFA is just for fun and adds some additional names. For example, there is one name on my list that did not even make Matt's spreadsheet that I am going to have some fun with
Needs the gif
Drew Himmelman, OT, Illinois State
SAMUEL COOPER, IOL, MERRIMACK - Maine
RACHAD WILDGOOSE JR,.CB, Wisconsin
DONNIE CORLEY, WR, Texas Southern

UDFA are only posted in Selection thread AFTER the final pick is made. By the way, Wildgoose was selected already.
Well I am on the phone with them

Damn, after we made our junior quality control intern's eight-year-old kid watch all of Merrimack's games, the Packers swipe Cooper from under our noses. His agent played us!
Well I am on the phone with them
Me too. A couple have promised me that I am their first priority because I called them first and they appreciated that. A few others have not given me similar assurances.

Seems to have worked...
The Dolphins would seem to have an edge in the perks department. Plus the income tax thing.
No
Cheers
Thank you to Mike in NY and Big Blue Blogger for all the fun banter and feedback. You and Matt are a big reason I look forward to this every year.
Stay well, fellas. Until next year.
