We will use this as a discussion thread to keep the picks thread uncluttered. These threads will be used for the duration of the draft.
Once a team is on the clock, they will have two hours to make a selection. If a team goes on the clock after 4pm, their two-hour window will roll over to the next day. For example, if you go on the clock at 4:30pm, you will have until 9:30 am to make a selection. Picks may be made between 6pm and 9am if GMs are online and following the draft thread. The time limit only applies during the 9am to 6pm timeframe. If the two-hour time limit expires, I will make a pick using any list that the GM for the team has sent me in advance (send lists to the email address in my profile) or in the absence of a list, I will use the GBN Big Board with a little discretion so as not make an obvious dumb pick (i.e. Kansas City won’t be taking a QB in the 1st round this year). If a GM misses two consecutive picks without providing a prospect list or making some form of contact with me (email or posting on the draft thread) the spot will be reassigned to one of the BBIers who have expressed an interest to fill the vacancy.
Please utilize the
BBI Mock Draft Spreadsheet . The spreadsheet contains the draft order (RD1-7) by team and GM with a fairly comprehensive list of prospects based on the GBN Big Board (as well as several other prospects that did not make the GBN Big Board). I will try to keep the spreadsheet and thread updated as often as possible… Good luck!
Did I over share?
Don't worry, it happens every year. I could also see Rick looking at Slater or Jaycee Horn. Personally I have Surtain higher, but I can see how a team would prefer Horn.
But boy that defense is an injury away, from 2 injruy prone guys (Jaylon Smith and LVE) to having absolutely no one except for Demarcus Lawrence...
Jeudy (1.15 - 2020 draft)
Hamler (2.46 - 2020 draft)
Courtland Sutton (2018 2nd rounder)
Tim Patrick (who is a nice player)
Daesean Hamilton (2018 4th rounder)
As well as 2019 1st rounder Noah Fant at TE?
Seems like a lot of resources on pass catchers.
This will be a defensive draft for the Cowboys sprinkled in with OL needs with 9 picks to go and 5 more in the first 4 rounds.

Agree with this... can't see this happening, but stranger things have happened.

Best CB in the draft... can't go wrong here.
Stark difference.
Waddle... Slater... MadPlaid gets off easy with this one, but the pressure will be on next pick.

Came down to Smith being the player in this draft. He’s better than everyone on that list. Just like signing Golladay shouldn’t prevent the Giants from drafting Smith or Waddle. You can never have enough playmakers.
Give Drew Lock everything he needs to either succeed, or show Denver they need to move on.
I would probably go Slater, but that is because of Waddle's durability concerns. If he is not durable enough to match up against physical CB's on the outside can you really spend the 11th overall pick on a slot guy? In real life if Pitts, Chase, and Smith are gone I think the Giants need to seriously consider trading down.

Take Slater in this spot but I think the Giants run to the podium for Waddle. Fastest GPS of any receiver in college football. Had he not been injured Smith's production would likely be Waddle's. He is a more polished Tyreek Hill. I would not be upset with that pick.

Waddle is an outside guy... He is an easy pick here, but so is Slater... Can play OG and RT... tough choice here, but can't go wrong.

You think Denver dips back into the WR with the resources already spent on pass catcher and current depth?

Thanks, I figured that was your rationale. I don't disagree that Smith is better but I would argue if you need 3 1st round picks and 2 2nds as pass catchers to be successful, you probably have your answer as to whether Lock is your guy. I do think this highlights Denver being in sort of a weird spot in the draft. I haven't dug into their team needs too much but the value is likely to be at a position where they already have some depth. T

If the Top 8 went how this Mock did in real life I could see Chicago, New England, and Washington trying to trade up to get Mac Jones. I could also see Denver drafing Jones and moving on from Lock. Trading back they can land an EDGE or add another CB to match up against their opponents in AFC West. Even though they signed Fuller it was a 1 year deal.
If you're drafting him as a tackle, I think I prefer Darrisaw, but either way there looks to be some really good O-Line options in round 2.
Not angry about the pick if this happens, but not the way I would go...
My strong preference is offense, whether it be Smith, Waddle, Pitts, or Slater
He has PSTD from all the previous draft beatings.
With that said, this is a dream come true. Every Madden playing Giants fan goal is to pretend to be in charge of BigBlue. I have been looking forward to this moment for a long time, and I hope I don't disappoint. At least most of you.
I agree with those who say you win in the trenches. When the Giants OL was good, they won. When it wasn't, you get the picture. Rashawn Slater is a great add to the Giants line. I like his athleticism and versatility. He can be added almost anywhere on the line and just make it meaner and better. I feel this would have been the pick Andy would have gone with.
I was tempted to go with a play maker here like a Parsons, Smith or Surtain, but all those guys went before I had a chance to consider them. Waddle would have been interesting, but I just thought Slater was the smarter albite less sexy pick.
Okay, let me have it.

Easy selection of Ja'Marr Chase. They needed a WR and he was the best player on the board. Bingo. Gonna pick 28th for the Fish, so gotta prepare for that selection too.
Dolphins pick 18th. Agreed a WR/Pitts is the easy selection here.
It was a typo. I know I pick 18th mongo! lol

I mean it was a good pick... even though it says a lot about you... You aint SEXY!

I know that with all they're doing in FA the best place to add talent right now, the most needed place, is on the OL. I just feel like they are going to pick the BPA here no matter the position and there are going to be a lot of players ranked higher than Slater at 11.
I think they can go OL in round 2 or 3 and get a nice value.

Who is ranked higher? Waddle probably, but who else?

I did start reading good things about an edge rusher from Georgia, but he seemed the kind of pick you target with a trade down. Unfortunately, if the Giants are going to trade down, it isn't happening until draft day, if at all.
Let's see if the Chargers blow this pick like they did last year in the BBI mock draft!
Just teasing as you should have to take a QB here. Just giving you a bad time about Justin Herbert.
taking the second best OL in the draft? Come on bro.
