A lot of the pre-draft conversation has centered on Waddle, Smith and Pitts. And rightfully so.
But there is some really good value later in the draft. You see there is a clear shift towards blazing speed. You can't tackle what you can't touch. Towards that end, I give you these three kids that are electric and pro-ready.
1) Florida WR Kadarius Toney - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vndw3FqUgTc
Underrated skill set. Fills a number of holes for us on the roster. WR/KR/PR. Played in SEC under the big lights and consistently performed. Trade down and pick up another 2nd/3rd rounder and you have a player similar to Waddle without the injury question mark. I like Waddle a lot but not with that type of injury and certainly not at 11. Toney would be an instant compliment to Golliday and takes over for Shepard in the slot as soon as Shepard gets another concussion or is let go as a salary cap casualty. Toney later in the first represents good value.
2) Buffalo RB Jaret Patterson -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTJ9evDPuxE
This kid is patient, elusive and built like a rock @ 5'7", 195 lbs. You simply can't teach 0-60 and he has that in spades. He gets lost in the wash at the LOS. That is where his size is an asset. A real nose for the goal line. He reminds me a lot of Meggett and we could use some of that right now.
3) Miami QB D’Eriq King Highlights - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAe1jJNQdOQ
A real Swiss Army knife. This kid does it all. Is he an NFL starting QB? Maybe. Maybe not. Is he a Wildcat goal line threat? You bet your ass, he is. Kid is a winner. Does it all on the field. Natural leader. Holds the ball high and tight. Could be a legit backup in this league.
So many talented guys in this draft. It might behoove the Giants to trade out and get some draft capital. The center from Bama comes to mind as does Darrisaw out of VT.
Who is your sleeper playmaker that no one is talking about?
Happy Monday!!
The whole team sucked, Carl. Can't blame King. As a 6th rounder or a UDFA, you could do worse.
Patterson -- 5'7", 195 - the second coming of Joe Morris? That would be OK w/ me.

Yes, reminds me of a young Joe Morris. He's nothing like Meggett
