Happy Monday, bitches!
6 pm is Mets pre-game, with the (finally) season-opener at Philly going at 7.
An interesting Knicks-Nets game at 7. See if the Knicks can steal one.
And what should be a competitive, entertaining NCAA National title game (Gonzaga-Baylor) at 9.
Even you dark-souled sunzabitches have your Yankees on after dinner! 😆
Have a good day, all. A fun sports night awaits!
doesn't change your point but we're in EDT now, not EST
The NCAA Championship game should be fun to watch.
My son and I have to wake up at 6:15 to get him ready for school. How TF are we supposed to watch the end of a game that probably won't actually start until around 9:10-9:15?
I know they're not east coast teams, but is an 8 pm start too much to ask?
Why should I even bother start watching?

Baylor-Gonzaga starting @ 9:20 EST is beyond absurd.

WTF is EDT?

Eastern Daylight Time
People bitch about this every year. Calling it "absurd" suggests that they are making a poor decision, which they clearly are not with the start time. It maximizes the amount of eyeballs on the game

Defining it 'absurd' is a POV. As someone who lives on the East Coast & has to get up at 5 tomorrow for work, the time of tipoff sucks. And yes, I'm sure the NCAA knows what they're doing. I'm just taking selfishly.
I think we all understand that, but an 8:20 start on east coast would mean 5:20 on west coast. So some folks in the west might miss the tip off, but a lot more people throughout the US would be able to see the 2nd half and end. It's called a reasonable compromise.
Not even last five inning while pitching, walking five, and hitting a HR? Don't know that I'd call that special.

Del, gotcha. My bad. I was really looking forward to that game & I check ESPN today & it says 9:20 tip. Now this might happen every year for all I know, but like come on...us East Coasters get screwed.
SFGFNCG, in my memory (not as sound as it once was), March Madness Finals has always had a ~9 PM start, I guess it's part of the mystique!!?
I think Mook is right; it's always this late. And I probably bitch about it every year like clockwork too, Haha.

Throwing 101 MPH and hitting a HR on the first pitch he saw is pretty special to me.

I'd prefer a SP to at least last 5-6 innings and not walk 5 guys.
Ohtani has impressive stuff on both sides, but I don't think there's anyone that believes he can make it a full season doing both. He should just focus on hitting
