NFT: Mindless movie recommendation

DanMetroMan : 4/5/2021 3:25 pm
It won't be for everybody but Eric Andre's new "prank" movie "Bad Trip" on Netflix had me laughing harder than I remember laughing at a movie. It's Borat-style humor so if you don't like that kind of hidden camera/trickery it's probably not for you (and it's not safe for children) but it is very, very funny.

is a good one. Really most of the old Farley Bros. movies are great.

Clerks is a good one. I liked Waiting a lot too.

I have a soft spot for 10 Things I Hate About You. Heath Ledger was in it...
LOL

Keep them coming. This isn't much of a discussion/thread if it's ONLY talking about this one movie I liked. It won't be for everybody but it does have a respectable 73% on rottentomatoes which i pretty high for what kind of movie it is lol
i just watched the trailer

it looks pretty good

i wonder when it was filmed, I think its kind of strange the people dont recognize Tiffany Haddish. I feel like she's too famous to be in a movie like this

It was filmed between October 2017 and December 2018
I love Eric Andre

The Eric Andre show is outrageously funny.
I usually love stupid humor...

I watch South Park, Family Guy, Impractical Jokers etc.. but I absolutely hate and never laugh once when watching the Eric Andre show. I just dont find it funny at all.

Skull Island is highly enjoyable. Few years old now.

Looking forward to Andre's movie on NF.

First let me say, his show is absurdist humor, much like Tim and Eric, or Wondershowzen, etc, it's not for everyone. The movie really far more straightforward. Again, closer to say Borat.
It took me a long time to appreciate Eric Andre

When I first saw his show, I didn’t like it at all and thought it was stupid and annoying. But for whatever reason, I watch those same clips now and I find some of it to be hilarious. What’s amazing to me is that he claims that the full interviews are like 30+ mins long but they cut it to little segments, I would be interested in seeing the full interviews lol.

“Bad Trip” was solid. It was funny and some of the gags were great. Don’t think I’d put it on the level of “Borat”, and I also think “Bad Grandpa” (another a Jeff Tremaine project) was funnier, but I definitely enjoyed it.
Eric Andre is Amazing

I agree with Osi, it grew on me. I didn't "get it" at first, but after time (and after seeing him on Man Seeking Woman), I became a huge fan.

I have bad news... I did not, get the job, at Fruit Loops

I've got some. Don't like this style of humor though so I don't think I'll watch unless my wife wants to.

Just to be clear, I'm not suggesting this was as good as Borat (I actually laughed more at this than Borat 2, which I also enjoyed). I was just making a comparison "style" wise.
Try 8 1/2 for some mindless fun.

Or Pasolini's Salo.
I thought it was good. I liked it a lot more than the Borat sequel
