How is Jorge Lopez still getting paid to start major league games?
Mad Mike : 4/5/2021 3:52 pm : link
And I know, I just assured we'll get nothing off him tonight, so I'm sorry. But really, how is this guy still around?

Would of liked to see Tauchman instead on Hicks.

Not much left to root for, already too far behind to have a shot at the playoffs. But the hell with it, I'm going down with the ship, let's go Yanks!
Fire Cashman
Bricktop : 4/5/2021 4:50 pm : link
Fire Boone.

Trade Stanton. Don't give Judge a big deal. Trade Sanchez. Move Torres to 2nd, DLM to 1st. They're wasting Wade's prime years on the bench. Move him to SS.

Does that cover everything so far? Or is there more?

Not for nothing, but
section125 : 4/5/2021 7:01 pm : link
Montgomery looks like the real deal. Flat out looks like he is dominant.

Knock wood, but I see confidence.
All Rise!!

Does Monty remind anyone else of Jimmy Key? I see a similar deceptive windup where he hides the ball well, not overpowering but good command of his off speed stuff
Giancarlo in the

house. See ya...and out of here.

6-0 Grand Salamai!
STANTON GRAND SLAM!

Hmmm. Not sure. But this is a different Monty. He was getting better and better each year. Maybe more Andy.
Actually, no not
section125 : 4/5/2021 8:22 pm : link
Jimmy Key. Jimmy was a mini Greg Maddux - up, down, in, out. I am seeing Andy Pettitte.

That was a nice pitch. It looked like it had some tail action. He prob saw it breaking the other way. That was by no means meat.

Thinking the same. 3–1 count. Two fastballs right now the middle of plate. Doesn’t anyone know about protecting the plate with two strikes?
Nice win boys
mfsd : 4/5/2021 9:42 pm : link
Monty 6.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 7 K, 0 BB

We’ll take it!
Nice shutout win.

Montgomery was fantastic.
Stanton’s grand slam 471 feet

Chapman squeezed

Nice start Jints.
Giancarlo

Monty and Giancarlo doing big things
adamg : 4/5/2021 10:23 pm : link

Yeah I see more Andy than anyone in Monty.
Agreed

I've seen Andy in Monty the whole time. Big lefty with the cutter, FB, curve combo.

Yup and he even seems to have that glove up high covering his face and peeking over it for the sign thing too.

I've always seen Sterling Hitchcock in Monty. Sorry Pettite is one of the best Yankee pitchers of all time, and had and underated ability to miss bats and get the K in a big spot.

Montgomery has waaaay more Pettite action than Hitchcock. Hitchcock was pretty blank in stuff and delivery. I thought JM had the goods since his come up.

Haha. And if Giancarlo was clutch, he would have hit a 5-run homer in that spot.

All Cashman’s fault. And Boone’s. Probably Chris Mara’s somehow too
I live in the Baltimore area. Was at a Boy Scout meeting last night
Bramton1 : 4/6/2021 8:35 am : link
And one of the kids was up on stage closing out the meeting, and said, "I hope the Orioles are doing well against those Yankees."

"It's seven to nothing, Yankees."

Ahh, I live for these moments.

Haha indeed. To their credit, before last night the Orioles took the Red Sox to the woodshed in 3 straight to open the season. Not that the Sox are any great shakes this year, but will never stop taking pleasure in seeing them lose
They hit homers
Carson53 : 4/6/2021 10:26 am : link
and they win games, that was Stanton doing what Stanton
can do...annihilate a baseball. Lets see if he can stay
healthy. He is a strange hitter, can look so bad for a few days, and then he does that.
Sanchez cooling off quickly, and his defense has been subpar already with three errors.
Vamos Yankees.
