Paul Schwartz - NY Post posts his Mock for the Giants...

GiantBlue : 4/6/2021 3:50 pm
1.0

I like the first two picks......mostly a D oriented draft.
Link - ( New Window )
No effin way Collins makes it to 42.
robbieballs2003 : 4/6/2021 3:52 pm : link
That would be a HR.

Zaven Collins is not making it to round 2.

Paul remains out of touch.
No way Collins last
GIANTS128 : 4/6/2021 4:05 pm : link
that long....
I'm not crazy about the edge defenders in the draft
Ten Ton Hammer : 4/6/2021 4:11 pm : link
but I can't see how they go OL, OL. 3-4 seems like a good spot for an Edge.

Waddle & Collins
Thegratefulhead : 4/6/2021 4:18 pm : link
You might need to leave me alone for a few minutes if that happens.
I love..
FatMan in Charlotte : 4/6/2021 4:19 pm : link
that people label their mocks as 1.0, 2.0, etc

Covering all bases by Mock 18.4
Not everybody can go in Round 1
AcesUp : 4/6/2021 4:19 pm : link
And there are always surprises/reaches that push others down, I wouldn't rule it out. There's a glut of Edge guys in that range for teams looking at pass rush potential and people are gassing up Jamin Davis at LB now, so who knows. Every year the first round ends and there are 4-5 guys out there that nobody thought would be available in the 2nd. He's absolutely perfect for Graham's defense so he's a run to the podium guy for sure.
He did use the PFF draft simulator
Peter from NH (formerly CT) : 4/6/2021 4:21 pm : link
so while I agree the guy is unlikely to be there, it isn't on the writer
If Collins was there, that sounds like a good draft.
Bill L : 4/6/2021 4:21 pm : link
As I said before, I would sub in Michael Carter (RB) if available at the 3 spot.
I would not be too upset
Giantimistic : 4/6/2021 4:21 pm : link
With Collins at 11.
I'd sign up for that draft right now
Gatorade Dunk : 4/6/2021 4:23 pm : link
But as others have mentioned, the likelihood of Collins reaching our pick in the 2nd round is next to nil.

PFF has their bias embedded in that simulator - players like Zaven Collins and Dyami Brown are always available later than expected, while players like Jamar Johnson (S, Indiana) start getting propped up as best available by the middle of the second round.

Fanspeak is wonky in its own way, but avoids a bit of the PFF oddities and would have have been a good way to run a second mock to sanity-check his PFF output.

That made me laugh.

Can you really blame them though? As we see this time of year on BBI, mock drafts get the clicks.

I just wish some of them would be a bit more creative in their format.
Interesting point about that PFF simulator
BSIMatt : 4/6/2021 5:42 pm : link
They have Giants listed with fewest areas of need among all the NFC East teams.
Collins could go as high as 10 to Dallas

If Collins somehow drops is he a candidate for a Giants trade up?
Let's stop with the shiny toys....
Emlen'sGremlins : 4/6/2021 8:57 pm : link
....this roster is in need of O-Line, Edge, ILB and more O-Line talent.
My college classmate and acquaintance, another '81 Great Dane,
81_Great_Dane : 4/6/2021 11:06 pm : link
shows that he knows that the Giants need and want a lot better than the national writers.
