I know there are a few Pirates fans on the board. You guys landed a great transfer from Syracuse today in Kadary Richmond. Kid is going to be a star. Huge loss for Syracuse with more to come. It'll be interesting to see all the crazy transfer portal moves made over the next couple of weeks now that the season is over.
I am a big believer in Coach Willard. Hopefully they can keep him around a long time.
Richmond was routinely lacking conditioning hence his non starting role. If you've ever watched the kid, he's great off the bounce, extremely athletic and led the league in steals.
But JB doesn't tolerate laziness and that's that. From a strictly basketball standpoint, the kid will be a star. So I'm not really sure what your point is regarding both Richmond and Boeheim.

Boeheim wanted to keep him. If his perimeter game develops, he'll be an absolute stud.

Of course JB wanted to keep him. It's a huge loss. Being behind Girard was a constant source of headache for fans and Richmond. But this is how Boeheim has operated for decades. Have that one guy off the bench to offer a completely different look - Josh Pace, Jerami Grant, CJ Fair, etc. Richmond wants to start and that's that.
Just asking???
Exactly. A kid wants to leave, he leaves.
As for Cuse, they're looking at three Boeheims on the team next year. Don't think that's ever happened in the history of college basketball.

My criticism of Willard’s teams is a product of watching them play for years.I’m a Villanova alum, so I’ve seen SH plenty. They are always talented, and they always underachieve in the big moment, and it’s almost always because they are undisciplined and play dumb basketball basketball when it matters most. I put that on Willard. I just don’t think he’s a coach who wins games because he out coached the other guy. Quite the contrary is true, IMO.

Being behind Girard in the rotation is a huge indictment in and of itself.

for him. Girard is stiff at the major college level.

Agree. Completely.
Nova
5 5* recruits
5. 4* recruits
5. 3* recruits
SHU
0 5* recruits
1.4* recruits
11. 3* recruits
1 2*. Recruit
Like I said, Willard basically gets 3* recruits at SHU while Nova gets it’s share of 5* and 4* recruits,
It is not even close. I know as I went to The Hall and follow Basketball closely.
And that's because the players who tend to get limited playing time are ones who aren't putting the work in.
That doesn't magically get better in a different locale.
