I want to see Cole really stick one in tonight.
...just like our hitters watching pitches right down broadway.
So they can try to do something with Odor.
Really not liking this at all.
3-0
Glad we didn't waste the bases loaded.

Yup, nice sign when Judge is comfortable hitting lasers to right field. The HR barrage will come. Assuming he stays healthy
Let's go big Mike.
After tonight, hard to deny it. It is the Orioles he is facing but he is embarrassing them tonight.
Cmon DJ
Really wish we had added some runs.

Think he’s at 97 pitches, he could keep going but they’ll turn it over to the pen since it’s early in the season. Our bullpen should be fine
4-0
much better.
Judge mashed that one.
Yup. Home runs are bad for baseball. He should have pulled out the squeeze bunt. Small ball rules
Showing off...bad for team moral
He will not last the year with this.
Umps got it wrong. That was clearly in DJs glove.

Last the year at SS

I read somewhere Yanks will go all in for Corey Seager this coming offseason. He’s a Boras client, so a Dodgers-Yankees bidding war is what he dreams of

to play 3B? He isn't going to stay at SS into the next chapter of his career.
Holder was returned by the Phils. He hasn't peaked yet.

If Judge and Sanchez have good years, I doubt the go after Seager. Of course they can afford it, but no way you can have 4, 5, 6 of these $250mill + guys on the team.

Don’t remember where I read it, don’t recall if it was someone in the know, or just a reporter seeking clicks.
But overall I agree that the Torres at SS experiment isn’t going to work for the long run. They really miss Didi’s range, and smoothness
Unless someone is traded off, they have a logjam in the infield (now with Odor it is worse) that will require a trade or two if they want a legit SS.

I love Torres and i'm fine with DJ at 3B if we can flip Urshela and some prospects for a starting SS. None of it is ideal and you have to think they knew they were painting themselves into a corner when they signed DJ. Torres looked much better in the Spring games I watched so maybe he can evolve into a league average defender.
Just rough that our infield D is really brutal with the hitters we have out there.
We need Gleyber be league average, or even slightly below average, at SS. I hope he can get there; I don't know.

I doubt the Dodgers get outbid for Seager. I see the Yanks more likely to go after Story or Correa for SS
I really don't.
He doesn't have good footwork, that's his bugaboo.
I wouldn't mind Seager here next year, Correa would be cheaper,
but his injury history would be a possible issue.
That includes back issues.
It's World Series or bust for this organization at this point,
that's why you back up the brink's truck for a pitcher like Cole for nine years!
You can't send prospects and Torres for a rental,
which Story would be. If the Mets for example, didn't
just get a long term deal with Lindor, that deal would not
have looked good. If you trade for a rental like that,
you better get a long term deal done. They can wait until
the offseason, when he is a free agent now. The Rockies won't get a deal done now, after moving Arrenado.

No way Colorado is letting Story walk for nothing in FA. They will trade him if they are not signing him to a long term deal. Having just traded Arenado has nothing to do with Story. Of course I'm trading for him with the thought of giving him a long term deal. I'm not for giving Gleyber away. Honestly they don't have so many mega deals on the horizon either besides Judge and Gleyber if they keep him so I'm just for giving Story Gleyber's money. Sanchez isn't getting a big $ deal and Sevi is taken care of affordably.

So maybe another team trades for Story, as just that,
a rental. The Yanks right now, are not in good position
to make that move. There is no guarantee you get a deal done with him, even if you trade for him.
I only mentioned Arenado, to show that the Rockies wouldn't keep him, you missed the point.
Once they traded Nolan, they gave up all pretenses (even to their fans), they would even try to contend.
Torres is not going to make the amount of money that Story will be getting, not with his inferior glovework.
It's not the same money. Sanchez may be gone after this year, if he adds another bad year.
Personally, didn't want the Yanks to tender him a contract,
but they wound up doing it.
I really don't.

The same way we did with Jeter, who was below league average defender at SS.
The below article shows Gleyber isn't exactly a disaster defensively.
