Sammis is possibly this years Jimmy Graham
As an Alumnus of Tulane I became aware of Sammis Reyes when
he came to Tulane from Chile to play on the basketball team
He was highly touted but he never made it as a power forward
His athleticism was crazy with high flying dunks
I just read read an article that he is now applying for the draft
Sammis played basketball like a football player so the transition makes sense
I understand that his testing was off the charts and he received the highest RAS of all draft applicants this year.
Sammis is 6'-5", 260 lbs, had a 4.64 (40),1.6 (10y split) 40" (V), 10'-5" (BJ), 31 (B),
Sammis is raw but would be an interesting late round pick
There is a long successful history of basketball players transitioning to TEs and Sammis could be the next

When I get time I will try to do another.
As a late day 3 pick it is wise to roll the dice on a project with big upsides. Sure Reyes would redshirt year one but in a year from now he might be ready to make an impact.
I know when I was young, my boss was a CA guy who had all kinds of friends in Hollywood and LA. He told me that the Rams tried on multiple occasions to get Wilt Chamberlain to sign a football contract. The thinking was that no one could defend him.
Jai Lewis! we did even better though, we tried to make him a freakin Left Tackle. I dont think he made it out of camp. ended up playing basketball overseas.
9 NFL players who also excelled on the basketball court

we brought in a basketball player when it was all the rage and it completely flopped(?) Or maybe there was just discussion of it on here @5 years ago??

I don't think that Lewis even made it to training camp.
