NFT: Who are you liking Masters wise?

SFGFNCGiantsFan : 4/7/2021 11:37 am
DJ & DeChambeau are the two Vegas favorites, with Spieth, Justin Thomas, & Jon Rahm rounding out the top five.

I'm rooting for Jordan. I've always liked him & he's coming off a win at the Texas Open so he's got some good mojo going. Also, it'd be a nice redemption story after his '16 collapse at Augusta. If not Spieth, go Rahm! He just had a kid so that'd be cool too. Just no Patrick Reed...screw that dude.

One of my favorite events of the year.
definitely not

Tiger this year.
I think Rahm wins it

dark horse for me is Collin Morikawa
A couple of longer shots
Mike in NY : 4/7/2021 12:00 pm : link
Cameron Smith tied for second last fall and has a second Top 5 in his history at Augusta so I would not count him out

Matthew Fitzpatrick has made every cut since 2016 and has been playing strong golf lately

I'm in a pool that you pick 6 from tiers determined by current world rank.

I have Rahm, Finau, Scheffler, Spieth, Conners and Day.

Rahm just feels like one of those stories we'll hear about for years with his wife just having his first child. He's my pick to win.
Speith is one of my favorite players
Old Dirty : 4/7/2021 12:42 pm : link
but no one has ever won the masters after winning the week before. He could be the guy to do it though.

John Rahm is another of my favorites. Would absolutely love to see him pull it off, but I think he's too emotional. Those greens will destroy you if you're not focused.

I don't think Dechambeau has the total game to get it done. It's more than just bombing it. He'll be in top 10 probably, but I hope he's not slipping on the green jacket this year. I like the fact that he's scientific about it, but I just find myself rooting against him. Dude puts a ton of work in though.

Maybe Sergio gets his second masters victory. He seems way more comfortable without Tiger in the field.
I'd go Spieth and Rahm

with Leishman as my dark horse.
Lefty turns back the clock
fireitup77 : 4/7/2021 4:22 pm : link
And beats Spieth by a shot.
Spieth and Johnson
Pete in VA : 4/7/2021 4:28 pm : link
Day as a longshot
Hovland as a rooting interest (Norwegian roots). He did pretty well as an amateur 2 years ago, his tee to green game is as good as any, but his short game isn't quite there yet
I really think its JT's tournament
Southern Man : 4/7/2021 6:17 pm : link
but I am also hoping for a great Spieth run. Scheffler could be an interesting play.

He's got "it" to have won at an early age....I wouldn't be surprised if he did really well this week.
I am leaning Thomas
nygiants16 : 4/7/2021 11:24 pm : link
but i think it is wide open, i dont think there is a clear cit favorite right now
Justin Thomas has the best
section125 : 4/7/2021 11:39 pm : link
wedge game in golf and is clutch good putter. DJ is a favorite but I do not think he has been sharp, but he can flip a switch

Had Koepka not hurt the knee again I'd have him behind Thomas and those hills will hurt him. (but look out if he is within two on Sunday)

Love Spieth and he has been getting better every week since February.

Love Rahm, but worry about his temperament with the freaky fast greens and undulations.

Shot shapers with power have an advantage, do not discount Bubba Watson as a dark horse.

Do not kid yourself that DeChambeau doesn't have the short game for Augusta. He absolutely does.

My Guess(in order):
Thomas
Johnson
DeChambeau
Morikawa
Westwood
Casey
Spieth

Nah, don't see it. I think Lefty is done winning majors.
He can make some money on the 'Champions' Tour.
Lot of stories about how hard and fast the greens are

this week. Saw a couple quotes from Phil that they’re the toughest in a decade...set up that way after the field had their way with the soft greens in November. With the help of a very dry spring in the Southeast

Who do you guys think that favors? I’m a casual golf fan, mostly tune in for majors, but as much as it’s cool to see guys like DeChambeau hit bombs, I enjoy tourneys when shot making, accuracy and putting carry the day
this course is set up perfectly for DeChambeau

in my opinion -- if he can keep his head on straight - it's going to be his tournament

Phil Mickelson did it in 2006. And of course you're forgetting Ralph Guldahl in 1939! :)

Four overall... Sandy Lyle in 1988 and Art Wall Jr in 1959.

Augusta National is finally playing tough for the first time in a while and it's good to see
You guys teased me back to
Bill in UT : 4/8/2021 6:11 pm : link
watching Spieth. So 10 seconds after Dottie Pepper says it's been 100 holes since Spieth has 3 putted, he 3 putts. Bitch. Last I saw, he birdied the par 5 8th, I think. He needs to have that putter working. C'mon, Jordan
Have you ever had anyone who you just didn't like
Bill in UT : 4/8/2021 9:22 pm : link
because of the way they looked? Rose and DeChambeau are that way for me. Rose is a good player and will be tough to catch with that big lead. Let's hope he blows up somewhere along the way
