Bears receive NYG 2021 1st Rd (11)
NYG receives Bears 2021 1st Rd (20), 2021 3rd Rd (83) and 2022 1st Rd
I would like this move but only if Pitts, Smith and Surtain are gone. At 20 I’d be looking at Ojulari and Collins.
Do you like this trade? What are some other viable targets at #20?

But that pick could be useful if Jones takes a huge step back and we need ammo to move up for a QB. It also would be nice just to have CHI first. Probably going to be a good pick with their QB situation.
Maybe instead of the 3rd they’d change it a 2nd for our 4th?
Kadarius Toney baby!
At #20, I'd hope for Jamin Davis, but given his pro day, he may go top #15.

YOu're right. I take back my ask. I thought the Mahomes trade was more than it was. Similar trade. 2 1sts and a 3rd. So it's legit. My bad.
Giants deserve a lot of credit in positioning themselves to shop while "not being hungry" in this draft. The free agent moves have fleshed out the roster so they can focus not only on best player available with each pick, but be ready to seize advantageous trade opportunities.
yep. Gotta be honest, I don't think that's a trade you can turn down even if Smith or Pitts is on the board. The chance to get a future first from a mediocre team with a coach on the hot seat doesn't come around often. Look at how BOB set the Dolphins up.
Take the deal and take the best player on the board. That's the flexibility they gained in signing Golladay and Ross.
They would still get a decent player at #20, and maybe somebody who would be a better fit anyway.
I like it
What about the North Dakota State kid?
You think Matt Jones is a franchise QB. He is a gigantic overreach at #3. Fields or Lance could be at #11. Everyone thinks they are great
Quote:
If Jones goes 3 to SF, the only trade that makes sense for the Bears, giving up that much, is to trade to 4 to get Fields. There's not going to be a franchise QB available at 11. If they can't get to 4, sit tight and reach on Trask. That's a terrible trade for the Bears.

No...but that's who every mock has SF taking. I think Fields is the 2nd best QB in this draft. I also think Carolina trades out of 8 or takes the 5th QB. I don't think there's any chance one of the top 5 QB makes to 11. If not, no chance the Bears consider this trade.
Also, if Fields is available at 11...the Giants should take him.
The Bears' 2022 1st-rounder could be almost anywhere in the round. They'd be betting on themselves to have a great season. Big risk.

Yeah I see that. SF should take Fields, not Jones. Matt Jones is Christian Ponderish...
And No the Giants shouldn't take Fields at #11.

If the bears think their QB is at 11, and it could happen, they would offer something similar.
It is a trade I would take.
I agree.
Great value and you still have a pick to fill a hole.

Of course, the chart matters less than the actual players available at #11, but it provides a useful sanity check.
FWIW, the full-round discount on future picks seems kind of steep for current circumstances. By 2022, teams should have a fuller complement of data to support their draft decisions.
exactly. this is a corollary to the Dick Young "fair trade" adage using draft picks instead of players
Then DG has to make sure he doesnt start laughing until the Bears hang up the phone.
Maybe instead of the 3rd they’d change it a 2nd for our 4th?
I think I'd rather have the 3rd and keep our 4th than to have to give up our 4th for another 2nd. I do understand the allure of picking up another 2nd but I personally would prefer to pick up an additional pick rather than just improve the quality of one of our picks we have but keep the overall quantity the same.
Simply put, with so much uncertainty in this draft, I'd rather have five guys in the first four rounds than four guys in the first three.
Possible teams:
Philly at 12
NE at 15
Raiders at 17
Washington at 19
Mitchell Trubisky, Nick Foles, Andy Dalton, and the entire Raiders organization disagree.
