Jints in Carolina : 4/8/2021 9:59 am
Crazy ass story.

Quote:
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The gunman who killed five people including a prominent doctor in South Carolina was former NFL pro Phillip Adams, who killed himself early Thursday, according to a source who was briefed on the investigation.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak publicly, said Adams' parents live near the doctor's home in Rock Hill, and that he had been treated by the doctor. The source said Phillips killed himself after midnight with a .45 caliber weapon.

killed the doctor, his wife and then two grandchildren and a person who was working at the house.

Killed two kids.

Obviously it is a huge story here as it happened about 15 miles away, but what a senseless crime.
Hurts the heart

you want to kill yourself? Fine. But don't take innocent people, especially children, with you.

This is horrible news! Life is a precious gift so it is bad when one takes their own life, but he then adds to the calamity by killing five additional people.
Dear God

I first thought CTE too, but maybe he was just a horrible human being. It's just so sad. 2 kids...the heart breaks.

How f$caked up can one get to do that

One of my friends in the medical field worked for that doctor and knew his family well. Tragic.

Not me. Is everyone who's had concussions in their life a danger to society? Are only people who've had concussions subject to depression and/or evil thoughts?

It isn't about concussions, it's about repetitive concussive force.

The sad thing is a lot of people think some are born evil and chalk it up to that. Which would be fine, even if it weren't all that accurate. But you know what the doesn't do? Prevent the next tragedy from happening. We desperately need some better mental health services. I'm curious what the details are, but this didn't sound like a crime of sanity or passion.

A lot of his past teachers are chiming in on social media that they were shocked to find out he did this. Didn't seem like his nature at all.
I read some more details

“My understanding [is] he was treating him, and had, from my understanding, stopped giving him medicine, and that’s what triggered the killings,” Norman said, citing law enforcement.”

“Adams, 32, forced his way into Lesslie’s home, killing the 70-year-old doctor, his wife and their two grandchildren.”

“The former defensive back also shot two air-conditioning contractors outside the doctor’s home, killing one, before turning the gun on himself.”
