Interesting take. Seems like a lot of people have mentioned an assumption that Hill will take his place at the 3 and Dex will bounce inside. Are you expecting to see more of Austin Johnson than Hill?

But, remember the Giants just signed Danny Shelton and already have Austin Johnson. Also, we're likely to see a lot of four-man fronts, and Lawrence (like Williams) can play anywhere along that line.

And johnson are the noses. Dex is definitely staying put outside.

I've always felt that Hill's regression in his second year was the driving force behind Gettleman trading for Williams. Anyway, it's hard to know how the coaching staff feels about him going forward.

Still, I don't see the brass feeling hard pressed to draft a DT early on (unless someone's grade/value is overwhelming), however I can certainly see them drafting a developmental prospect with one of their 6th round picks.

Now I'm looking at this Florida DL Tedarrell Slaton 6'5'' 340. Should be a day 3 pick or UDFA. He could be an interesting developmental nose to replace McIntosh's 53 spot.

I think that if they’re drafting to build a team, they’re likely ignoring Shelton. *If* they’re drafting for more than this year.

With only six picks this year, drafting another DT with a premium pick would be a mistake, in my opinion, unless, as I said the value/grade is overwhelming. A day 3 pick is another story.

If it was up to DG solely then yes. Given it looks like they are being more cautious about distributing so much high end resource to DL , I'd rather them wait a year.
