In that case, I'm going to have to read up on him. When they read the headline, I had no idea who he was (also don't really know any of the royals). So, glad they mentioned he was Elizabeth's husband, so I cold at least know that much.

years old on the 99th day of the year, and the 9th day of the month - conspiracy theorists are going wild.
I don't know much about him, sounds like he did or said some things some people didn't like, but i read he was a WWII veteran and fought actual Nazis, so he couldn't have been all bad.

He wasn't always politically correct with his remarks, to put it kindly. He also apparently wasn't the warmest father ever, though that's probably typical of his era/English families even though I believe he himself was Dutch.
Actually served for real with distinction for 6 years Britan was in WW2. Front line navy in at the Battles for Crete, Corfu, Sicily, North Africa and at the invasion of Italy, Greece and assisted what became Yugoslavia
Was often an ass but was an active and deserved patriot.
King George and Elizabeth as a child hung tough staying in London and walking the city and its hospitals when many wanted them to go to Canada during the years of the air war and anticipated Invasion of England.
The Royals are soap opera now but Elizabeth was a strong lady when it mattered and so was her father

Bill L, good point re. them during WWII.
It'll be interesting to see what happens post Elizabeth. I don't think Charles is beloved at all amongst the public. And I get that it's a Netflix show, but he did not come off well @ all during the latest season. I'd go to argue he was as much a villain than a character.

Gotta watch THE CROWN, my dude.
Yes
Well you better let him out, he can't breathe.
Gosh, that's really old, and it seemed funny then! :-)

Either you were making particularly bad prank calls or you misremembered the joke. It's Prince Albert.

Haha, yeah prank phone calls are from such a different era that most younger people will ever experience it. Harmless silly fun.

Getting lots of Julian Beck in Poltergeist 2 vibes from that picture.
Lived like a King (literally) for a century.
