Hi Gents,
Here is a mock draft I did the other day. Yes, Devante Smith was on the board when I took Parsons. I personally think we need more speed in our front 7 and would love it if a safe Edge rusher was worth our pick and that fit our scheme was there. Phillips and Paye are good but one has the injury issues and Paye seems more 4-3 DE to me. Parsons can line up anywhere and play all 3 downs and start day 1. He has edge ability too having been recruited to play edge at PSU but was moved inside out of need.
I used the Draft Network simulator and I had some very tough decisions but went with players I feel will make a impact beyond year 1.
1. Micah Parsons LB PSU
2. Creed Humphrey IOL OU
3. Amon-Ra St. Brown WR USC
4. Day Odeyingbo ER Vanderbilt
5. Sage Surratt WR Wake Forest
6. Jermar Jefferson RB Oregon St.
WR Alabama
NYG
42.Trey Smith
OG Tennessee

76. Joe Tryon
EDGE Washington

116. Chazz Surratt
LB North Carolina
NYG
196. Kary Vincent Jr.
CB LSU

201. Alaric Jackson
OT Iowa
WR Alabama

Nice draft but I don’t see Tryon still there in round 3.
One extreme to the other lol. Last year we were probably the shortest WR corps in the league.
I did do a couple of small trades in the middle to pick up an extra couple of picks.
What do you guys think?
#11 Kyle Pitts TE FLorida
#42 Levi Onwuzurike DT Washington
#77 (traded down a spot)
Javonte Williams RB North Carolina
# 136 (I traded again here)
Daelin Hayes EDGE Notre Dame
#144 Aaron Banks OG Notre Dame
#196 Frank Darby WR Arizona State
#201 Kary Vincent Jr. CB LSU
Trades: 1) #76 for #77 and #241 (SD took Tylan Wllace)
2) #116 and #241 for #136 and #144 (KC took Milton Adams at #116)
WR-Edge-OL in the first three rounds, except when someone takes Parsons at 11. If that happens, they take those same positions in 2-4.
It make sense, but I think everyone needs to remember that teams don't really take guys in rounds 3+ expecting them to fill a need.
bw will see his 30 TD passes and Go Terps will once again smile.
And, for all of that, up to and including my mock coming true, we will get the added benefit of seeing Satan doing Triple Axles on ice skates.
Lol I was thinking the same thing!
Yes I heard this today actually, saw a video of Chris Simms ranking his edge players. He stated this but still had Odeyingbo as his 5th rated edge player. I found that interesting since I had done my mock before hearing this.
So Gates is our best linemen right now? News to me. Creed is a stud and yes I would move Gates in heartbeat. Gates can play up and down the line ala Diehl.
I was looking for a TE with the Sarratt pick but he was a much better value.

OL, WR are fairly deep positions in this draft. Edge there is no sure fire number 1 and it flattens out after the first 20 picks. Parsons is my dream pick.
