I think what we are learning about these OL coming out is that even the NFL teams have guys all over the place as far as their boards go. Which makes sense, it seems to be the hardest position to scout.
.....I always feel the term "reach" is wrong because
they're in the perfect position as is with Solder as a backup. If they draft Jenkins, or any RT, either Jenkins or Peart ends up on the bench and Solder is gone. I don't see that happening. I think the first OL they draft will be a guard, or maybe a center if they're comfortable moving Gates to guard
RE: This is why I like Simms, not afraid to go against the mold that isnt
Yeah, but if I'm not mistaken his 2020 list of top 10 WRs didn't have Davante Adams on it, so I don't know if I can ever put much stock in his opinion again.

Is there anyone who you do listen to that has never made a mistake?

Sorry, read that too quickly and saw that was for 2020. Lol weird

Jenkins has OG/RT versatility. You play him at RG or shift him to tackle if the Peart/Solder combo flops.
certain body type OTs automatically will be good guards. The skill sets are not the same. Jenkins played 2 games at guard as a freshman, that's his total experience there. I'm not spending the 11 pick on a tackle assuming he's going to slip right in as a starting guard. I'd rather spend the 42 pick on a guard. Unless, of course, I really don't have confidence in Peart. That changes the whole equation. Only JJ knows that.
He’d be a target late 1st/early 2nd, so a trade down. I don’t quite see the fit for the Giants here positionally, would prefer they pick one of several very promising G prospects with their 2nd.

I agree 11 is too high and he'll be gone before our 2nd pick. I just really like him.

Agreed he could be the ideal target on a tradedown with Pats or Chicago

No, but I sure can't remember someone committing one of that caliber.
This wasn't a draft mistake, mind you. This was ranking current players.

That is about as blind a response as I have ever read on this site. If you listened to his podcast, he said there are probably 20 WRs that are top 10 WRs, and Davante Adams is in that group. As an aside, where was Adams in the playoff game vs the Bucs? Kind of a big game, and he disappeared.

This year will be even more so.....with the opt outs and weird season.
