Starting to look really bad for deshaun. 20+ women. The facts weren’t good from the start. But when you admit that there were consensual sex acts with at least some of them, your case is in trouble. This isn’t one woman. I don’t know that it got to the point of rape, but defending yourself against over twenty different incidents is highly problematic for Watson. I wonder why he didn’t try to pay all of them off. The worst case scenario of allowing these suits to be filed is career-ending prison time. So glad the Giants didn’t foolishly trade for him this offseason.
or it can hurt him.
who knows, I 100% believe in innocent until proven guilty, but that doesn't work with the court of public opinion so Nike and Beats by Dre already suspended their endorsement deals with him.
I haven't read anything about Parsons to suggest he's a bad kid.
From that point of view, Watson would still not be innocent in all of this. Even if the encounters are consensual its still a form of soliciting prostitution.
My suspicion based on what's coming out is that the 22 women involved in the lawsuit have a spectrum of experiences with Watson - likely ranging from a consensual sexual encounter (in which the woman is now looking to hitch themselves on to getting another payday) to receiving an unwanted advance (in which the woman was actually there to just do a massage and became uncomfortable when she was propositioned).
But it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility that Watson "went too far" with one or two of the women - and that the sexual harassment could stick (I don't think we'll see a sexual assault charge).
I just have no idea what happened, but i do know he's innocent until he's proven guilty.
The number 20+ therepists does not look good for Watson
In the commentators years in football on variouis different teams he can count the number of physical therapists that he had on one hand
The teams supply therapists or make reccomendations to the players
Watson was not seeing all of these therapists for therapy there was another motive
You keep mentioning this. I don't think there was a solitary report that the Giants were pursuing him. They may have called to hear the ask and get a good laugh, but there werent rumblings that the Giants pursued him...unless I missed something.

And this is why his lawyer had to concede that he was having sex with some of these women - that much would be obvious even before we heard anything from the women. It still makes Watson look a bit scummy, and it presents him with some legal liability with regard to soliciting women for sex, but there's a significant gap between that truth and accusations of sexual harassment and assault.
Regardless, I think the attorney representing these women in their lawsuit may have overplayed his hand. The fact that this remains such a big news story and that Watson's reputation has already been tarnished gives Watson no incentive to try to come to a settlement. He's going to fight this and it will be likely become too expensive for most if not all of these women to stay on the lawsuit.
He's a piece of shit.
Well, low-class, anyway.
Wondering if Houston is trying to void the contract and what grounds they have to do so depending on how it plays out.
He may not be playing for a while, either. I could easily see Goodell putting the hammer down and issuing a lengthy suspension. My guess right now is Watson may not be on the field until '22.

Of what happens, it would have been a PR nightmare and a huge blow to the Giants image had they traded for him before these details emerged. Even if he is exonerated, it’s not a good look. I hope that most people on here would at least agree with that despite what the outcome may be.

There were no reports that the giants were pursuing him. I talking about the fan interest in acquiring him (including on this site).
Did Wilt Chamberlain Really Sleep With 20,000 Women?
So don’t talk about it?
I could be wrong but I think that was before 20 women accused him of sexual assault.
Did Wilt Chamberlain Really Sleep With 20,000 Women?
Quote:
According to close friends, Wilt loved threesomes. According to legend, he was intimate with 23 different women on one 10-day road trip. Wilt was also a lifelong insomniac, sometimes just not sleeping at all. He probably would take a woman to bed any time he couldn't fall asleep.
I wonder if there are hundreds or even thousands of kids of Wilt out there.

Not if the lawyer is working on contingency, which is likely the case.
The fact that he sought out so many different therapists, some licensed and some not, suggests he was looking for more than a massage, especially when none of them were team recommended.
And cheaper, too. Schmuck.

Watson's lawyer said Watson had consensual sex with "some" of the women, which suggests that for others his advances were unwelcome. I'm not a law expert, but I think taking a woman's hand and putting it on your penis is considered sexual assault (or at the very least, sexual harassment). And even for the women for which it was consensual you are dealing with a man who has a habit of making sexual advances (assuming he made the first move) towards women in a work environment. The numbers heavily suggest he was seeking more than a massage when he made these appointments.
This is kind of obvious. If a man forces a woman to touch him in his nether regions without her consent, he risks all kinds of legal issues, and deservedly so
dumb, rich, football or basketball star to step into?
We're not talking about intelligent people in all cases.
Some of these kids are as dumb as a lamppost.

Maybe I'm missing something, but doesn't consensual mean 2 willing participants?
Or his lawyer is suggesting that Watson had no sexual relations at all with the other women, wanted or unwanted. He wouldn't be much of a lawyer if he was admitting unwanted advances.

Florio over at PFT knows very little about football, but he does know the law, which was his day job before the Rumor Mill took off.
p.s.--I get it, there are massage parlors you can go to where the women give happy endings or more, but I assume these things are either understood in advance (by reputation or recommendation) or negotiated ahead of time. I'm not into massages (too ticklish) and have never been to a massage parlor, so it's not a subject of which I can speak from experience, but when there are 22 women saying you crossed the line, it's hard to believe they're all liars.

Yes, I'm sure that's what he's gonna claim and I'm guessing there is evidence of sex that made the admission necessary, because the admission that sex was involved with multiple women who were hired for reasons other than sex suggests there was more on Watson's mind than just getting a massage when he scheduled the appointment.

Well except that consensual means he did not cross the line..
This is truly one that needs to play out because it appears to be seedy on both sides. I do not doubt that there may be some dirty play by the lawyer for the women in that he is reputed to be a huge Texans fan and friend of the owner(IIRC). Amazing this came out not long after Watson started the trade demand stuff.

Character matters. It’s not just about talent. Giants need to think long and hard about drafting a guy like Micah Parsons. Doing due diligence on him is just the bare minimum and they would be taking a risk. I don’t know the facts surrounding Parsons, but the inherent risk that comes with drafting ANY player is many times higher with him due to past actions.
Maybe I'm missing something, but doesn't consensual mean 2 willing participants?
I think their argument is consent can be revoked after the fact.

Here's the latest from Florio...
The next day, Brooks spoke to KHOU-11 about the situation. She didn’t deny sending the messages, which explained her decision to stop providing massages to Watson after two and a half years. The interview with Brooks includes the chain of text messages in question.
The first, from Brooks: “I know i know i know.”
Then from Brooks: “That’s crazy.”
Then from Brooks, “I told u i stopped working with him?”
Next, a response: “Yeah why.”
Finally, four replies from Brooks: “Bc I was hearing too much stuff about him messing with other people. Like other therapist and esthetician’s. He been doing a lot the last 3-4 months. And i even told his ass he needed to be careful Bc his name getting around. I just hope don’t nobody call me to question me.”
Not a good look for Watson - ( New Window )
