Gregorio : 4/10/2021 9:29 am
What are your favorite or most memorable drum fills, any genre? My top 5.

-In The Air Tonight, Phil Collins
-Won’t Get Fooled Again, middle
-Tom Sawyer, after the lead
-Don’t You Forget About Me, coming out of the middle
-Stairway to Heaven, first where Bonham comes in, then underneath the lead

The other three had to convince and twist Ringo's arm to get him to play that short drum solo too in the first place since he didnt like solos or showing off . He said looking back he's not even sure how he came up with what he put on tape or if he could duplicate it again
Most anything Stuart Copeland did in The Police.

I recently got that album on CD. DTL & Kings and Queens are really the only two memorable songs. You can tell why Snort The Line would've been a more apt title lol

The average age on this board is probably 60, so I wouldn't be surprised if people still think blink is some "shitty bands kid listen to" (even though those of us who grew up with blink are in our 30s), but travis barker is undeniably an amazing drummer.
Blink 182 is absolutely a shitty band

I don't care how good their drummer may be, they suck ass as a whole.

Tell me I am not understanding the history of this

But didn't the Phil Collins In the Air Tonight benefit from reverb which was the new thing at the time. It is not that the drumming is all that special.

That's really good. Ward played his ass off.
