JD Davis is to IL. Peraza recalled. Kilome DFA. deGrom do i ant in first. Nimmo leadoff double is on fire.
Carrasco: "Progressing well, throwing bullpen sessions, has not started running yet"
Syndergaard: "Has been impressing, on track for June.. likely mid month"
But we aren't getting good conforto right now, which is why McNeil has been the better player to this point of their careers. Conforto runs too hot and cold. hitting McNeil 7th is a joke if the team isn't scoring runs and the middle of the order is leaving men on base.
Marlins are going to be a pain in our ass for a long time with that rotation.
Conforto: .158
McNeil: .083
McCann: .188
Or maybe he can get hit by a pitch to load up the bases

just make good contact and get the ball in the air.

If rojas has the urge to give someone a day off he's a good candidate right now.
This is such a stupid narrative that people like to regurgitate every degrom start
McCann: .833/OPS
Next up was Conforto with a .708/OPS

deGrom a solid and trade him to a contender. He deserves better than these pack of losers.

Unfortunately, it gets regurgitated because this team is so consistently inept playing behind the best SP in baseball running on 3+ seasons.

Well, the “every deGrom start” part kinda proves the point.
also does anyone trust Diaz in the slightest? Unless something changes in between his ears it's hard to believe he will ever be able to stay consistent at bat to at no less game to game or week to week.

Ok I agree, let’s trade the second best pitcher in Mets history because we feel bad for him and the $25m a year he’s making? That will show them!

Nobody wants to trade deGrom. Or is at least serious about that. Figured that was obvious. Fans are just frustrated, and rightfully so. Just let them be frustrated. Sorry it bugs you so much.
But truth be told, this does not look like a good team. Or at least not as good a team as many expected.
Hits in JDG's two starts:
0 – Alonso, McNeil, Villar
1 – Pillar, Lindor, Alonso, Davis, McCann, Smith
2 – Conforto, Nimmo
3 – JDG

In 185 career starts, Jacob deGrom has allowed one or no runs 87 times.
Absolutely insane.
I think the stats say otherwise for his career...by he is indeed off to a brutal start
For the psyche of this team, they need to win tomorrow.
And dammit this pen misses Lugo. Can't get him back soon enough.

I wouldnt go that far. Stroman is back now and Walker had a great first start. Really aside from one bad first inning for Peterson, the rotation has looked really good, even Luchessi in relief.
That said ,it sure will be nice to get Carrasco, Syndergaard, and Lugo back.
Just what this offense needs, MORE days off.
Ugh.
2. the bats have been relatively cold - headlined by Conforto's 33% k rate in the 3 hole and multiple times yesterday leaving men on 3rd with less than 2 outs. Lineup decisions by Rojas have no helped at all. They cannot bench Smith or McNeil right now and they have to stop hitting McNeil 7th. He came up like 3x yesterday with 2 outs and nobody on.
Need both to turn around, simple as that, and Rojas needs to do better.
Biggest concern has to be Diaz who is not getting swings and misses with his FB. His ability to consistently locate has been non-existent for 2+ years now. And as crazy as this sounds I think they need to consider giving Familia some save opps with clean 9th innings. He is hitting 98 with good movement and in his 2 appearances hasn't given up any hard contact. Yes he is an adventure but so is Diaz right now. May as well audition both of them while Lugo is out.
Diaz
Familia
The schedule in May has 2 nasty road trips, with just enough off-days to keep the Mets offense from getting into any kind of groove. By the end of June, they'll have played the Braves and Phillies about 25 games.....which should be enough to get the Manager fired.
Yeah, trading for and signing the best young SS in baseball is terrible. Stop posting.
