Are losing ground to the Ray's who have who has a payroll 4 times less and the Jay's about half our payroll. Cashman stole Girardi's salary and took control of all the power in the organization right at the point where Girardi had made a very questionable decision in the Indians series which the Yanks rallied around thier manager and won the series, then came a hair away from upsetting the Astros, Girardi was fired that off season with his 5 million dollar salary, and Boone was hired for 1 million, at the same time by coincidence Cashman got his contract extended and raised his salary to 5 million. He stole Jie's salary and got him fired. Since that move with the Yankees players all just coming into thier prime years they have not progressed and instead are slowly regressing. It's all Cashman 's game now and he is falling, the Yanks are not successful by making the playoffs and then it's a ceapshoot, that is the bullshit they want you to swallow, they are not getting better and most likely will continue to get worse,Cashman has had his shot, time to move forward from Cashman, he has failed.

I’m with you all the way. It’s the same ever year. I am 72 years old and was a season ticket holder before moving out of NYC. I saw the great teams of the Yankees especially the 61 team. Every year up until 65 was a great time to root for the Yanks. The seventies and Nineties were also great. The teams with Jeter leading the way was special. Since George S died not so great. Cashman needs to go! If George were alive he would have been gone long ago.
This is two days in a row now where I can't watch the game through MLB.com because it's in-market, yet I cannot find it on Frontier (formerly Verizon Fios) cable. From what I'm reading, Frontier dropped the Rays' channel from their lineup...?
Am I to understand that I won't be able to watch any Rays/Yankees games (insert joke here about not missing anything, because the Rays are a team full of 5'9" banjo-hitting scrubs who nonetheless kill the Yankees)?

But at least he's the type of positive role model we can all rally around.
Btw, I still think it's a little early to go nuts about things but is there any good reason that Mike Ford can't do what Jay Bruce does?
Lol re: German
I agree Ford should be up and Bruce should be left in Tampa. I also agree it’s way too early for panic. They’re 3-5 through 8. Yes it’s frustrating how the Rays have been kicking our ass lately. But let’s see where we’re at come June 1st before everyone jumps ship
it's either win games big with the home run or lose games scoring 1 run or less. Boone better win it this season or he's gone and I hope Cashman as well.

Smack around a woman? Ok, not that big a deal. We'll give you another chance and pay you.
Two bad games? Unacceptable. Bye, Felicia.
How do you know he smacked her? We never heard what happened.
And why would they option him? The team cannot hit so they blame the pitcher for not throwing a shutout? Are they bringing King up to take his place in rotation?
Big Bang Theory....if they don't hit home runs incapable of manufacturing runs with timely base hits with men in scoring position. Seen this movie before...doesn't work.
They don't have any first base players in AAA better than Bruce??
Sorry for being so negative...love the Yanks.

Losing Voit hurt - he is one of the better OBP guys on the team and Hicks is supposed to be one but is off this year.
They have talent, no doubt about that. But leadership at the managerial level, on-field leadership, and a fire to win, just aren't there. As someone said previously (Big Bang Theory), mashing the ball over the fence is the only way to win their games. Our individual batting averages for the most part, are pathetic.
This culture has been here for several years. The Boone era will go down as successful, they will win a lot of games. But I seriously doubt they win a WS anytime soon? Guys are getting older, but not better. Except for a few guys (Cole, Voit, Gardner), I just don't see the fire or intensity.
They will win 90+ games, they will have a few streaks that will perk us fans up for a little while. But the post season will likely be the same thing, bowing out to a team that hits better, pitches better, is better managed, and a team that wants to win more.
At the top, they seem to be in a rut with the philosophy of baseball. We all know Boone is the perfect mgr. (puppet) for Cashman. And Cashman likes the big mashers to put the ball over the fence. I don't think it will take a complete overhaul of this team, but seriously looking at the lineup, or the management, is necessary before this team will be competing in the WS. It may take just one or two moves; is Torres, Judge, and Sanchez really going to be the core of this team moving forward.

Almost sounds like they should have kept Joe Girardi.

It did come out that he slapped her. This story from the Athletic had the most details, apparently he slapped her at a public event where German and several other teammates were. Then later that night at home, she locked herself in a room and called an unnamed teammate’s wife to come rescue her. Wife and unnamed teammate did Link - ( New Window )
German, who allowed four runs in four innings Saturday, has swing-and-miss stuff. He also has hit-it-over-the-fence results. Meadows and Arozarena took him deep. That is four homers in seven innings this year and 50 in 968 at-bats for his career, or one every 19.36 at-bats...
1) Bruce is the most puzzling. He's brought in on a minor league deal apparently needing to play his way onto the roster. He didn't do that Voit injury not withstanding. You know what he is at this point, do there is no logical reason to keep him over Ford.
2) As for German, first, didn't it come out that he hit her? It was obvious from day one of spring training that there were at least some in the clubhouse that didn't want him as a teammate. Many here, myself included, felt the same. So , the fan reaction is not wholly because of 2 stinkers; it's also for the person.
3) German the pitcher, I never felt was as good as his 18 wins in 2019. The other stuff, to me, makes this decision easy.
Smack around a woman? Ok, not that big a deal. We'll give you another chance and pay you.

So an incident like that only appeared in one place in print. I do not doubt that may be true, especially the locked herself in the room and called for help because that I heard. Understand the uncertainty of the rest when all the NY news media never reported it and I never saw it printed in any other media organization. This should have been plastered all over the place.
I think the farm system has supplied some good talent, the depth currently is very good. But it seems various systems and/or philosophies are flawed.
Sanchez...some talent there, virtually no improvement.
Judge...ROTY...what have we seen since then?
Stanton...huge contract, for a DH. Production doesn't match pay.
Torres...who here thought moving to SS was going to work? No one.
Bruce...why?
Hicks...big contract for a steadily declining batting avg.
Odor...huh? We needed another power hitting low avg hitter? We have plenty of those...how is that working for us?
Pitching...yes there is Cole, Montgomery looks to be promising, BP seems fairly strong.
The constant focus on big contracts, right handed hitting, power hitting...who really gives a crap if a homer goes 375 ft or 475 ft? How about making contact and putting the ball into play? I know the strength and conditioning was revamped, so hopefully the 'health' of the team will be good. But it seems that this era of the NY Yankees is going slowly off the rails. The same issues always seem to rear their ugly heads; poor defense, poor clutch hitting, no fire or energy, generally average starting pitching. Winning a lot of games and making an appearance in the post season will be seen as successful for many fans. And maybe we are all a bit frustrated due to NY area teams in general producing immense amount of failure with little success? Detractors and haters will criticize us Yankee fans as spoiled or whatever, but anyone looking deeply into the Yankees do not see an organization on the rise. Flatlining maybe? I know this season is young, but on what date can we no longer say that? And say, "uh oh...". I will be patient for a while, and yes, getting beat up by TB is embarrassing, like the Giants, I just want to see improvement.
More cowbell.
Fuck this stadium.
Yeah, it's the beach for me today.

Playoffs? Didn’t say can’t. Pitching wins Championships not HR derby

By the way, Jay Bruce sucks.

Did you try Fox Sports?

Oh, well, the season has just begun, so the Yankees will have many more chances against them.
I'm just not sure if that's a good thing or not.
Boone may not make All Star break....
Can someone explain this to me? Seriously?
Nice black eye for this organization.

The Yanks are now 17-29 in the last 46 games at the Trop.
The Rays own them in that building, that's for sure!
