Montgomery vs. Honeywell
Go get him.
Frazier benched second day, Gardner has the job back.
Frazier hasn't earned anything, but if you're not going give him more than a week, don't make a big deal of announcing on on the first day of ST that he's the starter.
Gardner hit .140 for most of April in 2011 and was allowed to play his way out of it.
Go get him.

I'd be surprised if Frazer isn't back in the lineup tomorrow. Guys had 3 bad weeks if thats all he gets than what a joke.

days not weeks lol
agreed good thing Gardy has a life long contract and hicks here for a anther 4 years.
lol absolutely
Fire Cashman. He has failed miserably since he dumped Girardi. I note with interest that in Girardi's last season he got a team that wasn't really supposed to compete to within one game of the World Series. Since then the allegedly much stronger Yankees haven't even whiffed the Series.
Fire Boone who should NOT have been hired in the first place. He's garbage. Talks a great game but can't produce when it counts.
Fire the stuffed shirt anal-itcs clowns behind them. What they are preaching is not producing.
And overhaul the medical staff to figure out how to reduce all the damn injuries.
Then overhaul this team that is rotten right up the middle.
Trade Sanchez and get a real catcher. Trade Torres and get a real shortstop.
Cut Bruce and stop screwing around with these over-the-hill guys like Odor and Dietrich. Give Ford a real chance. At least he's a first baseman by trade. And Gittens is coming behind him.
Put Hicks on notice that he's got to produce a lot better or he'll be gone, too. He's always been more of a tease - or out injured - than a real producer.
Gardner is not the problem. But this is his last season.
Now can you please do the same for me with Hicks. He is just a bad #3 hitter in my opinion.
Puke.
Puke.
signed through 2025 with team option for 26.
Granted it’s still early, but the promise of that 2017 team sure disintegrated fast. I know we are not allowed to bash the Yanks around here, but remember, we are supposed to compete with the Dodgers, not the also rans like the Rays. Just winning 90 games a year shouldn’t be enough. Brining back the same lineup, with the same philosophy, and dumpster diving for starting pitching are supposed to make us confident about this year?
Last thing, and it’s not up for debate, this team just isn’t easy to root for, to me at least. Every hitter is just selling out for power, I hardly see any competitive AB’s against good pitching. Defense is terrible, how many more chances are Sanchez and Torres going to get? And Stanton and Judge, how many consecutive games can they play before they need a break, 4? Maybe 5?
I wonder Cashman will do if this team struggles for a couple of months. Better yet, I wonder what Hal will do? The Rays are almost half punting the season, the Sox are down, the Jays haven’t arrived yet, and the O’s won’t be our punching bags forever. Just finishing first in the division shouldn’t be a cause for celebration.
What is this, 1974?
His 2017 numbers were ridiculous. obviously he never carried that over after the trade
Quote:
why we got Stanton? 325 million dollar DH who can’t stay healthy. We are better off when he doesn’t play

I’ve been to Marlins Stadium where he played in 2017. It’s a bandbox
Welp. Apparently you can ask for something else.
That prolly was their best shot the rest of the game..
Cool story. Why not give up on the season? Obviously the game is over. The season is over. We have no hope.
They’ve scored in just 3 frames over 25 innings in the series. You can understand people’s frustrations.

Have they not sucked but fat rhino dick so far this season? I didn't say anything about the season being over. Settle down.
Smelly is up. Let's go!
He needed that hit as badly as the team
We're firmly in rhino dick territory. Haven't quite reached kangaroo dick though.

at bat for Torres

Amen, and nice to see Judge moving well enough to score from second comfortably
So inconsistent.

Has been doing the Angel Hernandez thing all game.

Yeah, missed strike one to Gardner, but we will take it...
They cant get a clutch hit for shit. Getting caught off 3rd in a huge spot. They better wake the fuck up...they are going nowhere playing like this
Been breaking 100 early in the year..
Boone was afraid Stanton might stub a toe running bases

Nice. Usually takes him a month or two. Beware later in the season. Might get back up to 104-5.
Rare talent in today's game. I will say Tauchman has a lot of tools. If only he gets his power back
You may like him now...5-4 rbi single

Makes no sense

definitely helps his stock
Leave Chapman in to finish, please
Amen, man did they need this inning
Where's the finesse? 88 is more like it.
And the bats finally woke up with 2 outs in the 10th. Nice to leave that dump with a win
Whew...
Adios amigos. On to the Masters/
By the skin of our teeth today. A hundred chances to win, but glad, obviously, that the hits lined up at the end. I think I’ve had my hill of 10th inning plays at the plate.
I liked him alot. Don't understand adding Odor and losing Estrada.

WTF. Ugh. I hate how they're handling the middle infield.

Absolutely. It's way too early for any doom and gloom.

All I can think of is freeing up space to protect against losing people to Rule 5. And perhaps that they felt he had reached his upper level of ability.

I think there is going to be an above-average amount of churn in the 40 man roster AND prospects this year. Maybe not blockbuster trades, but getting filler pieces while clearing future roster space.
Remember that outside Kluber, the Yanks don’t have a lot of FA this winter. That means a tougher battle than normal to protect guys over the winter by getting them on the 40.
There are also a large number of guys who have been on the 40 for so long that this is their last option year (like Estrada). Look for most of them (Abreu and Cessa fall into this group) to be moved at some point in the near future for MLB guys in the last year of their deals to allow multiple 40 man spots to open.
The Yanks got burned badly this winter in Rule 5- I think they do what they need to to prevent giving legit MLB guys to their rivals (the Red Sox got a serious prospect for basically nothing- same for the Indians).
But the issues remain. And these issues are not due to a very slow and lethargic start to this season. The chronic issues have remained but what in reality, can change?
Hicks, Judge, Stanton, Sanchez are all here for a while. They will provide some fireworks here and there with a 475' homer. But I guess .220-240 BA from these guys are the best we can hope for? I guess when you trade power for avg., that is what we as fans get. While I am not satisfied with our defense in general, I can live with it. It is the chronic, year after year, hitting that fails us regularly during the regular season, and especially in the post season.
Happy with the late inning rally and the win. But I just don't see the offense doing their part. We had better hope pitching stays healthy and productive.
I won’t quibble with the major league record because 90-win regular seasons are still a success by any metric, though perhaps the Yanks should strive for more. No WS appearances since 2009 with our payrolls calls for criticism, not celebration. However, I won’t mince words when it comes to the minor league system, especially when it comes to drafting. Excuses here are always “oh we pick low” and “how about that one reliever we turned into a starter for the entire draft”, that’s not enough man, the drafting has sucked for years. If not for the IFA our system would be total trash. Just look at the recent top picks.
