I've seen it reported in a few places that the WFT may try and trade up for Trey Lance. But they'd presumably have to trade a lot of draft capital to get into the top 10, and even that might not be enough.
they were aggressive for Stafford but didn't have a QB to sweeten the deal like the Rams.
If I were WFT, I would, instead, target Davis Mills in round two or try to trade down in round one to grab him late in round one. That would be more economical and might pay an equal dividend over time...
Because if they had any smarts they’d have Justin Herbert. Now, they have to either go with the Fitzmagics or mortgage their future for a Trey Lance. Love it.

That’s quite a bit of hindsight on your part. Very few people saw Herberts first year going like it did. He looks like a future star. I hope this isn’t the case but it’s also true that people could say passing on Herbert for Andrew Thomas was dumb down the road
Making a play for a QB, but I think there's a decent chance that only 3 QBs go in the top 10, so they may not have to move up that far.
The Sam Darnold trade changed the calculus of the first round. I think Atlanta would pike to trade out of #4, but I think teams will assess that none of the remaining teams in the top 10 are likely to take a QB. So if I'm sitting in New England's or Washington's spot, I may be talking to the Chargers at 13 to jump Minnesota, but even then, are the Vikings a serious threat to take a QB? With what they have to pay Cousins the next two seasons? They have a $31M and $45M cap hit on Cousins the next two seasons. Do you take a QB now or wait until next year and try to get Cousins some help? I don't know the answer but it seems like a punt on the next two years if you go QB now.
Dude is a coach killer. I'd take Smith back before him. One leg and all. In his prime he got Chan Gaily fired when he got his shot. He am INT machine. Not sure if it's wise to trade up but that would help push a position Player down.
Fitzy will help them to 8-9 wins and lose any really important game w 3-6 INTS.

He really does turn back into a pumpkin after a certain amount of wins
Would the Giants trade down to 19 for an additional 2?
WAS needs to go make a move at QB, an aggressive one.
When they signed Fitzpatrick, it reaffirmed that notion. They have zero hope at QB and if they want one of these top 4-5, they will have to be aggressive.
They would have to start with the Niners-Dolphins deal
if he is available and possibly add a 2nd and/or 3rd round pick this year and make a trade down worth it for the other team.
We still don't really know who the Jets or Niners are taking either. The "reporting" all seems to be second hand inferences from different media personalities speculating on who these teams want more.

Yup. Wash knows that obviously but screwed up last year passing on Tua IMO. Maybe Tua Never develops but relying a guy who’s close to 40 and w his past can not be the plan. If it is awesome lol

Exactly, but we can also say the same thing about our team; however, it is more applicable to them considering their abysmal QB situation.
less than 20 starts in college, especially at a lower level of comp is pretty bad. Maybe Riverboat Ron sees some of Cam in Trey but I’d be good if the Skins mortgage their future to get him.

he rips them now but if they trade up for a QB this year who could turn out to be really good AND they have chase young who is the idiot then?
and I think it could be Mac Smith they are looking at. The smoke is Lance but that WAS team won the division and I think they want a win now QB. At 19, if they have to move up to the early teens to get Mac Smith, I see them doing that.
The problem with the potatoes is that they are good enough to win 8-9 games this year with the QBs they have. So next year they won't be in any better position to draft a QB. In addition, their D-line is another year older, so waiting another years will hurt them in the long run.

Gettleman apparently liked him, but then he stayed in school another year and we had drafted Jones.
Has the keys for any QB trade. Still not believing the chatter about SF & Jones.
That said, if they do take Jones, then with both Fields & Lance sitting there then Atl's gonna be like a dealer raking in the chips.
can outbid Denver if the Broncos are serious about getting a QB. I think the Broncos could be a dark horse here, and may have their sights set on Lance.
Another possibility is Chicago (if they try to get a package together similar to the one they supposedly offered Seattle for Wilson.) Their fans are outraged at the moment, and the current regime (GM and Coach) need to hit a home run this year..and I wouldn't want to depend on Andy Dalton at this point.
Draft a highly touted prospect and never give him an effing chance. Saddle him with Gase, a losing organization & the worst offense in the league and then ultimately blame him, and start over.
Contrast to what the Giants are doing with Jones. He's had a rough go of it, but they're sticking with him until he's been given a reasonable chance to win.
I have to think it's a net positive for NYG. The only teams willing to trade out of the top 10 wouldn't be taking a QB, so that would potentially leave another position player at 11.
Add in that I have questions about Lance's potential as an NFL QB. Having a division rival burn a 1st rounder is never a bad thing.

WFT could use one of their DL in a package to move up.
Wonder how Riveras ties to Carolina would impact a swap. Ioannidis palyed for Rhule at Temple.
That's not QB hell. QB hell is Minnesota (Kirk Cousins) or the Rams with Goff before they traded him. A team with a big salary mediocre QB.
Dallas might actually be in QB hell now.

It helps if they make that trade and Lance is nothing special. It hurts if he turns into a very good QB.
Why would we want WFT to get a QB with such a high ceiling?
They could likely get him in round two...or three.
that isn't nearly enough return.
Think of what we gave up to go from 4-1 back in 2004. Now we are going to get back a 2nd to drop down 8 spots? Fuck no.

The Bears are a lot more desperate than WFT, IMO.

We will be in the same boat next year if Jones doesn’t improve a lot in 2021.
