Honestly Philly hasn’t done much today. The Mets offense is failing the team so far this season.

Have to be able to manage around a struggling offense and when these games are winnable, Rojas has shown he has absolutely zero clue how to manage a baseball game. Why was Rojas left in even to face Harper?
We signed Loup, hey maybe an idea is to use him?
This game has been over for about 1.5 hours
We signed Loup, hey maybe an idea is to use him?
Because Loup would be subject to 3 batter minimum as he couldn’t force a triple play there

left in I mean.

Even if he has to face another batter - what are they going to do, never put him in the game?

No, but if choice is Castro v. Harper or Loup v. Bohm I am taking the former
They hit like paint drying....they can’t pitch, they can’t make plays, they can’t move runners along, they can’t get clutch hits.
Pathetic!
Again I ask - why is this manager still employed?
I don’t even blame the bullpen - the manager has absolutely zero clue how to use them
The guy is clueless and each game he’s the manager will be one wasted.
double switched dom out for pitcher so it goes to position player who hit before pitcher (stupid rule, stupid situation since they couldn't just figure out DH).
I think as long as it’s a near certainty that the guy wouldn’t have to bat, they can use whoever they want

How is Lindor the man at second to start off. Shouldn’t it have been Dom if Alonso was leading off?

Ah, I stand corrected

Ah, ok. Gotcha. Thanks. Didn’t realize the pitcher rule, though it makes sense
Well, a different new guy did. Glad they won that one
Yes. It's the 2nd game of a doubleheader and he can use the rest.
Pillar it is. Villar replaces Guillorme which is a tough call because he did just get GW hit although Guillorme is locked in at the plate right now
this team would be so much better if all games were just 7 innings.

fans who call managers and coaches clueless from the soft couch at their home are so much smarter then everyone else arent they?
And their offense has been terrible!
Nimmo the only guy who is off to a hot start. Every other guy is underperforming so far.
Alonso and Dom have been meh overall, but seem better because of some big hits.
Lindor, McNeil, Conforto, McCann all absolutely brutal.
Guillorme and Villar have done a nice job filling in for JD..but even there we are lacking the power threat that JD brings...
This low level of performance is unsustainable. Best still to come!
Also great to see May and Familia have nice outings.
-Rojas can't fall in love with Villar, his defense is scary
-LG needs to play a lot.
-Deolis Guerra for the A's last night 3 innings 5 k's lol
-Wilson Ramos 9 games, 6 homers
-Ex- Met Nabil Crismatt 5 innings 3 er 5 k's for SD last night

It's starting to look like LG is going to way over perform the all glove no hit player they had him pegged at. My worry is the Mets seem to never realize the type of players they have on their hands and will be late to recognize LG maybe should be the starter at 3B even when Davis is back.

Mets should engage Stroman in contract talks

100%. For whatever reason when they see a guy as X, they take FOREVER to move off of that. They played Todd Frazier, Jose Reyes and Jack Reinheimer over Guillorme

They were not wrong with Guillorme early in his career. His ISO was always Rey Ordoñez bad even though he did not strike out much. You really can't have that as an everyday player when you also have a catcher who doesn't deserve to be more than an 8th place hitter as well. Adding a DH will definitely help because you can do Guillorme and McCann as your 8th and 9th hitters. But Guillorme-McCann-Pitcher is too anemic behind Conforto or Smith or McNeill as the 6th place hitter. In 2019 his swing imporved notably. He still does not have HR power and his doubles are still not ideal for anything more than 8th place hitter when he is the only bat like that in the lineup, but at least he is not hitting weak grounder after weak grounder.
