to attend. County executive says they plan on 100% attendance for the Bills and Sabres in the fall, with proof of vaccination required. (FWIW, I think that county currently has the highest rate of new cases in NY). I assume the state could still restrict attendance depending on how things are going by then, but apparently the county owns the two stadiums so they don't need state approval to require vaccines for attendance. He says he's spoken about it with the Bills and "believes they support" the plan. We'll see if other teams or towns follow suit.

But I can envision issues about children who can transmit but will be too young to qualify for vaccination. Hard to say parents can't bring them to a game.
Yup, that'll be the next cluster fuck - fake Vaccine ID's.
Right, and are stadium ticket takers going to verify dates, etc. Of course not. It's theater. Some kind of vaccine app is going to be needed.

Will the handwritten little Vaccine card be enough "Proof" for admittance?

It's going to be an app. It won't be perfect, but my guess is season ticket holders will be able to verify beforehand and then mobile ticket users (stubhub, ticketmaster) can upload proof on the website beforehand, similar to flying.
I think it's a good call. Even if 90% of people in the stadium have it, I don't see how that is a bad thing. Vax mandates have precedents.

Already exists (Excelsior Pass) with more on the way.
I would hope they make some kind of exception for that, but who knows.
In terms of verification, they say they'll require the proof of vaccine app the State rolled out recently.

But that's only a NY thing. Probably most customers but not all.
True. But there's a lot of time to figure out verification and exceptions before they go "live".

Yeah, one of my five season tickets this year is for my daughter so I hope they figure that aspect out. Assuming that the NY/NJ area follows suit

Ah that's good. No app will be perfect early on, but I think that sufficiently raises the bar to counterfeit a result.
Absolutely right ! They’re already out there! My wife showed me a Story about a fake card, and low and behold, the lot number was the same as hers! I’d like to know how they’re really going to verify this sh$t.
I wouldn't say that the vaccine is only good for 6 months. I would say that's where they are with the data that informs their recommendations. As they accumulate more data, the guidance will change (and passes will be renewed). In fact, I think Moderna just said they can make claims to up to a year of protection. Plus, we know that the vaccine gives as good or better protection than does natural infection and we are about a year out from the first waves of natural infection (China probably has much more info) without seeing a bunch of re-infections.
I think this must be a local government, or State policy, not an MiLB requirement. My local AA affiliated with the LA Angels is going to have full capacity attendance with no vaccination requirement. First game is May 11th.
I would not be surprised if they also require masks. Especially in enclosed spaces (like bathrooms). Added bonus is the masks reduce the smell of the toilets ;)
