He doesn't deserve to be in over Gauthier and he's certainly not a reason to block a Barron call-up. Howden offers nothing. He's an average defense player that Quinn uses on the PK for some reason and below average in every other aspect,

physically? Everyone is different, but when Hughes has the puck on his stick there are maybe 4 or 5 players in the NHL who can match his speed and edge work combo.
Add in his good hands and vision and he will very likely be a star in this league.

Interesting, I hesitated calling him top 5 but thought no worse than top 7. You eliminate the beasts in McDavid,McKinnon, I giess Bergeron still and I think Zib is just as good as the rest. He plays on both specials, and is a transition nightmare. He flies between defenders, has reaquired his howitzer slapper, is unselfish and doesnt take hits. Sure there is somepower missing from his forecheck but he is not that kind of player.
Top 7 forward in the NHL is where I place him currently....part of that is because of how he is used.
He can't score goals like Ovie (who plays wing and is built like a brick shit house) and some people don't like his antics, but Crosby is the closest thing we have to Gretzky since Datsyuk retired IMO.
I wouldn't compare goal scoring of Crosby to the others, his game is different (or was, he's getting old).

Forgot Matthews, but at this point he is much more explosive than Crosby (despite less weapons to support him) and Coutourier. But same ballpark
