NY Post article on Parsons.

SFGFNCGiantsFan : 4/13/2021 7:51 pm
“The Giants are hoping another team takes him,” a talent evaluator with another NFL team told The Post, “so they don’t have to decide.”

On the flip side however...

“There’s some [concern] because he comes off like Odell Beckham with high-maintenance stuff — like a quarterback playing linebacker,” one NFL scout said. “But I’m not worried about Parsons like I was worried about Baker.

“He’s going to be a rock star, like an LT. He’s going to play early, he’s going to have success, he’s going to be sitting court-side. Nothing is going to stand in the way of football for Micah. The red flags aren’t enough to deter you from drafting him.”

I think he'll be available at 11, but-as that scout mentioned-I gotta imagine the Giants don't want a Baker redux, though again I don't recall a ton of pre draft chatter about Deandre's character.

Wishy-washy article

isn't it? Maybe he's a bad pick, maybe he isn't.
When did this article come out?

I wrote a thread that discussed Parson that got a ton of trackion early today.

Like an LT ?!?!

Uh, what?
I could care less

What he does ion his time as long as he’s not breaking the law. Be a good teammate, leader and create havoc on game day.

I leaning towards this being the pick if he is available. Been a long time having a LB that scared teams.
He's a beneficiary of the yearly linebacker requests
ghost718 : 4/13/2021 8:41 pm : link
Just like Slater on the offensive line

Good numbers, yeah, but on the field? He's got ways to go.
Parsons sounds like the kind of prospect that...
Milton : 4/13/2021 9:02 pm : link
Spends two years learning how to play LB, makes the Pro Bowl in year three, and then holds out because he wants to be the highest paid defensive player in the league. This is not the culture that Gettleman and Judge are trying to create.
Parsons is my preference.
j_rud : 4/13/2021 9:06 pm : link
The D is solid but Parsons gives them an identity. Of the short list of prospects we've really pored over here I really do believe he'd make the biggest impact.

It was a great thread.

Micah is my hopeful selection.
Pretty easy

Thumbs up or down from Spencer is the ultimate call here.
Wonder if the Giants hired a PI
Breeze_94 : 4/13/2021 9:28 pm : link
to snoop around on Parsons?

That would make sense for what is bound to be a huge investment

a NO on Parsons. Jaylen Waddle for me. Speed, character, production. And he played in 2020.

we draft Parsons I wonder if there might be a chance on us trading up from 42 for DE/OLB-Jayson Oweh as a guy that we want to have around as a great athlete, person, and prospect to help our defense and pass rush while being able to play in space but also a guy who can help to keep Micah grounded. Oweh is from Hackensack and went to Blair Academy. He is 6 months older than Parsons and beat him in the 40 yard dash so maybe it would be beneficial to give coach Chaos both of his Penn State pupils. Lord knows the offense needs some help but if we think that we can change the level of this defense from good to great with two guys who are 6-3 245 & 6-5 252 running 4.3s I'm not going to argue. This would be exciting.
wow ... 37 years
LeonBright45 : 4/13/2021 10:07 pm : link
since we took a Linebacker in the 1st round. If you would've told me that in 1984 after we chose Banks I would've said no way.

Imagine taking two first round linebackers out of the same school which is known as LB U. Lamar would be so proud

They probably can’t stand each other. Makes it perfect to put them together on this defense.
No on Slater
uconngiant : 4/14/2021 1:14 am : link
Parsons is going to be special, period.

He is the third best player in this draft behind Pitts, and Lawrence.
If he’s such a pain in the ass
Ned In Atlanta : 4/14/2021 2:39 am : link
I really hope they look elsewhere
A rock star like an LT?
81_Great_Dane : 4/14/2021 2:55 am : link
LT on the field - we should be so lucky.

LT off the field - I don't think even LT would say that is a good idea.

The Giants DL coach knows Parsons pretty much better then anyone with regards to football, locker room, teammate etc....Coach Chaos and Parsons go back aways....at least on surface relationship is good.

So, the Giants will either stay away or run to put in pick....it is pretty simple.

The kid has a big Ego and some anger issue....but no doubt he is talented and will fit Graham defense perfectly.....

IF....the Giants give their ok and select him....he will elevate this defense to elite status imo....no longer will QB have any time to work a WR open.....and no RB will get to the outside....he is the final piece.

Only if....he gets the thumbs up from people who know him best

Parsons is the speed player we need for the front 7. The draft has WR and OL in rounds 2 and 3 that will present good value.
No one is ever going to be anything like LT
arniefez : 4/14/2021 8:53 am : link
on the field. Ever.
Putting him in LTs class is too much
George from PA : 4/14/2021 9:04 am : link
He doesn't have that kind of power
....at least not yet.

I would be surprised if he can manhandle OL like LT did.

But speed, elusiveness...is probably better...and he is very strong.....just not LT strong.

I would be happy with half an LT
The talent and motor are undeniable
Heisenberg : 4/14/2021 10:01 am : link
And there's no team better situated to figure out what he's about now than the Giants.

If they pick him, I'll be happy because he would definitely improve the defense and I'd feel pretty confident that the Giants did their homework on him. He looks like a star to me.
Kind of an odd article by Dunleavy.
chick310 : 4/14/2021 11:04 am : link
With the LT stuff, and quoting another team's evaluator that knows the Giants are at some type of internal conflict on Parsons.

Odd.
This will be my final comment on Parsons’ off the field stuff ...
Spider56 : 4/14/2021 11:55 am : link
If I was judged on my behavior in HS and even some stuff I did as a college a Freshman, I would never have been hired by 1 of the most conservative Fortune 100 companies of all time, where I did fairly well for the next 40 years. Everybody grows up and matures at different points ... and I believe JJ and Chaos will look long and hard at Micah before deciding if he is a risk or not. I do trust their process. Spider ...out.

inside information from Sean Spencer. If they pick Parsons, it's because they have a full understanding and comfort with the player and how he will be in the locker room and community. The football skills speak for themselves.

Exactly. There's not a whole lot more here. The team will have a full assessment of his risks.
