Tell me about Ronnie Perkins...

Kiper has him as a 2nd round possibility for us and I usually blow off anything he says, but holy shit does this guy look like a terror on the edge. Hes a little light but he plays with great leverage and is as quick as a snake getting into the backfield. Plays with a high motor too.

Admittedly I watched only a few highlight vids, but man is he aggressive. I hadnt heard his name mentioned but he looks the part for sure. Reminds me of a cross between Bruce Irvin and Randy Gregory.

The only college played at his position whop scored over 90 playing the run and pass rush.

Not twitchy, but will work his butt off and is a high character player.

May fall to the 3rd round where he would be a steal
I’m a fan

He’ll drop to round 2 because of his poor testing but he’s very strong. Lacks ability and lateral quickness I don’t see him as a fit in a 3-4 unless he’s a situational pass rusher. No way can he drop back in coverage. Tight hips doesn’t bend much but he’s very powerful and has a nice bull rush. He plays with decent leverage but that works in college. In the nfl you need to have a variety of tools. Bottom line limited athlete id pass on him in the second round no doubt about it.

Round 3 is where he should go
Damontre Moore might be a better comp than Irvin or Gregory.

Irvin was a ridiculous athlete who blew up the Combine and jumped to #15 in the Draft despite concerns about his age, character and short college career. Gregory also was a superb athlete, and had tremendous length. He needed to gain weight and stay sober, but all the physical tools were there.

Not sure where you see the similarities between those guys and Ronnie Perkins, other than a drug suspension. Perkins had a few excellent games. He has some of Moore’s skill as an opportunistic finisher, and his Pro Day numbers are not as glaringly awful as Moore’s 40 and bench. But to me, he looks like an undersized 4-3 DE with no special traits that would translate to NFL success.

Not sure about the “high character player” part. Kids can smoke all the weed they like, but the timing of his suspension was really bad.

^This. Excellent analysis. That's exactly how I see him.

think his suspension means he likely isn't on the Giants' board.
bobby skinner says he's like Ximenes

has some tools for a good pass rush but doesn't have all the skills needed.
as a OU fan 4life....

Perk has a great motor...mean...and can bring it off the edge...he's a little small for a DE but alot better than X-man I would love to have him and Stevenson RB out of OU.
