Watching this game, I appreciate Thibs. I know the Bucks are good but like the Hawks they play undisciplined hoops to a great extent. There is so much 3-point chucking in the NBA these days. I prefer watching the Knicks.
RE: The off-season is going to be really interesting....
looking at Knicks salary cap capacity and players that would be worth re-signing. Do they get to re-sign Burks and Noel (while keeping Robinson) without breaking the bank?
Do they figure out a way to combine picks/assets in order to move up into the early teens in the draft? Do they find a high-quality shooter FA who is something less than a superstar, such as Fournier? Do they get Lonzo Ball or someone at that level at pg?
I am very intrigued by Fournier, btw.
Off season is simple for me, get a point hopefully Lonzo and add a lefit all around shooting guard..
I still think Beal will become available, if not i go after Trent or Powell
Beal is projected to cost a huge amount in trade. If there is a really good scoring 3 around instead of a 2, Barrett can do fine at the two when everyone around him is making shots. (e.g., Fournier.) There aren't twos around, except possibly all-stars that he can't guard. And, as he start making dribble threes--which he cannot do now--his value at the two grows.
I also need the second team to remain filled, and to play d. Beating a team that has stars requires great shooting, great d, and depth. The Knicks can get there as Barrett and Quickley grow up--if they keep and fill their second team. This is the year for that.

Yeah i should kf said wing rather than 2 but i think its interchangeable..
I agree on the bench, i want to keep Rose, Burks and maybe even bullock
and if they buy a wing and a pg and get two quality backups out of the draft--in three tries, or in two tries if they trade up--the team will be basically filled. I think that some players that probably slot into the second team, like Noel, may wish to stay around. I would love Robinson plus Noel, and a third big as a backup.
A true quality team that plays with passion would have the Garden rocking like nothing since Reed/Frazier or the best 2-3 years of Ewing. And everyone on the team would bask in it, and players around the league know that. A lot of sports pundits don't. Can you imagine 15,000 fans chanting "de-fense" at the top of their lungs? That would add 5 turnovers a game. The homecourt advantage would set records, except possibly for the Kobe Lakers and the Alcindor Lakers and a couple of Celtic teams.
It’s silly for The Knicks to dream about any of the draft’s top-tier prospects, but there will plenty of talent with star potential in the 15-25 range, an area of the draft where they will likely have two selections. One player who they could select in that range is Baylor’s Davion Mitchell.
The Knicks got very lucky this year in terms of the unusual depth of this draft, given their two picks in the mid-late teens, and their Detroit second rounder. A pg, a wing and a big is a potential combination. Link - ( New Window )
I would sign up right now for the two Baylor guards
Brings the Knicks within a game of the Hawks.
